I don't know anything about Vox so thank you cuz I'm getting a fresh guitar in Spring. Don't know what make I will get yet. Question: is it the same company as the amp?

It's the same company, but they don't manufacture the guitars. I don't know who the builder is, but they're made in Korea to a very high level. I'm not sure I would have paid the original $1500 price, but at the $500 that Vox vlew them out at, it's the bargain of the century.

DID you find the metal covers changed the sound of the pick ups at all? They usually leave pick ups like that with plastic covers to keep the brightness of them!

These were nickel silver covers (not brass), so they should have little or no effect on the tone. These P90s are also pretty bright to begin with because they're built more like a Strat pickup with alnico pole pieces instead of a bar magnet. All that to say no, I didn't notice a difference.

@@IracesGarage Ok that's good to hear! (sic) I recently took the covers off my Artist LP59, & they were low grade pot brass, & it made them quite dark! Took them off & now they are much brighter, esp the neck pick up! BIG improvement!

One thing I noticed when I replaced the plastic covers with the same raw metal ones in the video was that they seemed to make the pickups even more susceptible to EMF interference. In my case, I had a bunch of unwanted high frequency noise in addition to the typical “single coil” hum. I put the plastic ones back on and it went back to the normal noise level. Pretty bummed cause I love the look of the raw covers. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm not aware of any, but you could always check Facebook to see if there are some. I do know that when they had their $500 blowout, there were a number of threads that popped up on TGP, so depending on what you're trying to get answered, you may have some luck there.
