Well if you watched some leaked clips from the first episodes alastor shows a very clear hate towards televisions. Even when charlie's girlfriend which name I don't remember right now tried to record alastor the dude literally used its voodoo powers to glitch its own image, making the camera so hot charlie's girlfriend had to let it fall to the ground and even when at the start of said episode alastor was reuested to make a video that would have qorked as promotional material for the hotel alastor expressed how much it hates this kind of technology by making a very lazy and bad video. Now I don't know if alastor despise television and this kinds of tecnologies because its a boomer who can't stand anything that's more technologically advanced than what alastor itself had when it was alive or that this hate towards television is because of vox but this are the clues I found within the leaked clips and episodes that makes me think alastor may hate vox just like vox hates alastor but unlike vox alastor knows how to play the right cards to win with no effort

The whole black out scene with Vox and Alastor is also great in the sense that despite having all the advancement of technology, society still continues to use radio, radio waves, and radio broadcasts, the newest form is podcasting. The blackout is a great scene because Radio is cheap, affordable and easy to set up, there isn't as much setup involved with it to broadcast as you can see the setup Alastor has its kind of janky. In blackout emergencies, in natural disasters, impoverished areas where electricity is come and go, radio can deliver ALOT of information with minimal set up from both sides of the broadcaster and the listener and a radio uses minimal amount of power, you can power a radio and get vital information with just a hand crank. Alastor is old school, but is up to date with the trends, even with the lingo involved with the excellent lines of "Clout chasing mediocre video podcast!" "Everyday he has a new format" "uhoh! The TV is buffering!" He knews despite being legacy tech, its still in use and still relied upon as backup as communication to the masses but also still between individuals for mundane and emergency dispatch. And has the advantage when the lights go out.

Alastor isn’t worried about taking Vox out because he knows that if he does then he’s inevitably going to have to deal with a new Overlord who replaces him. When he first manifested, he slaughtered the Overlords who had dominated Pride for centuries as a show of strength, but that eventually led to people like the V’s managing to get a foothold thanks to the ensuing power vacuum. So as much as he wants to get rid of Vox and the others, he now knows there is no guarantee that he won’t be replaced by someone he finds even more annoying. Like the old saying goes: “Better the devil you know…”

Think about how a replacement chain would favor someone more reckless and bold, someone less predictable, and someone with potentially more power who's willing to be more directly confrontational. Imagine it less like a new Vox and more like a Striker or Crimson figure. Someone gunning to gain the kind of rep Vox already has by potentially disrupting Alastor's new life, not providing his entertainment need by actually being a challenge to him as much as by being a repeated thorn in much the way Vox is. Just he already knows how to needle Vox to his whims, with a new person he'd not only have to keep up with them but anyone supporting or rivaling them. He might get a few months to a couple of years of mixed peace and entertainment, yet no one he has in his service could fill that niche right now, and that is likely what keeps him from just dealing with Vox outright in the way Vox fears.

Hearing that Vox apparently asked Alastor to join his team and Alastor rejected him makes me think that it might be possible Vox had a crush on him at first, and when Alastor rejected him, this made Vox think 'you think you're too good for me?' and he just became more obssessed with him. My theory has not changed since i saw the pilot and learned about the vox v allister beef. I believe allister is at least as powerful as the 3 v's combined. They appear to be in a bit of a stalemate or at the very least unable to fully kill eachother.

Valentino was clearly setting up Vox in their conversation. He was playing the part where we think that Vox gives him the idea to do nothing and then Val time it just right to drop the bomb that Alastor is back.

Keep in mind that although Vox claimed that he wrecked Alastor 7 years ago We learn from Valentino earlier in the same episode that Vox almost lost that fight. With Alastor later saying that Vox is not that powerful without the other Vs(with the other Vs even smiling when he said that) it makes me think that Vox won the last fight mainly thanks to the help of the other Vs and that even with their help he almost lost according to Valentino. That would explain why Vox is so insecure and visibly scared of Alastor because even now with 7 years of gaining power he is still not confident in beating Alastor in a 1vs1 fight without the help of the other Vs. When Vox caused the city wide blackout it did not effect Alastor at all which I think is the storys way of showing us that even with all this power that Vox has he still is no match for Alastor.

I personally believe that their last battle ended in a draw. Just because of how much Vox insists that he defeated Alastor and how Valentino worded his verbal slap of Vox - 'He almost defeated you' (or something along those lines). If Vox had won, he wouldn't be this afraid of Alastor and Valentino would have said things differently - maybe something like 'You barely defeated him the last time'. Alastor is, of course, aware that Vox is technically stronger right now. It's why he brings up the other Vs into his 'diss track' and something tells me that the three Vs will have a break up at one point which Alastor will facilitate. He knows Vox thinks himself the leader and puts him in a position where he pretty much said that to the other two Vs faces (by how insulted he was when Alastor said that without them, he would be nothing) and after that meeting where Velvet declared herself the backbone to the Vs, our deer darling demon is already in a position where he could start playing them against each other.

what i love is that technically TV signals are transimitted via Radio waves, vus mkaing Alastor just more powerful then Vox as Vox will have to use Radio to transmit his TV signal essentally impowering Alastor. aas Alastor does hint that Vox is weak without the other V's and possibly without the use of the radio waves Vox would be powerless.

I think it's really important to remember that without Radio, TV is toothless. What can video do without audio? Part of Allistor's power comes from his complete disregard for power. He wants to be entertained. He started in Hell as a sinner demon, and rose to the level he is at now. There's no demon in Hell that he can't defeat, save for Charlie, Lilith, and Lucifer. Even the other Overlords are only there because he allows it. Consider, why would a defunct Overlord that disappeared for seven years be allowed to attend a meeting for only Overlords? Simply he wouldn't. The only reason that the other Overlords have as much power as they do, is that Allister finds the tasks they carry out boring. At any time he could carry out a second genocide and wipe out the Overlords again.

I feel that Vox Short circuiting like he did in the end of the song speaks more to Vox actually being Weaker than Alastor. Alastor's return as a whole disturbed Vox immensly seen by his reaction and his immediate attempt to attack his image and play of the strong guy. 08:00 just a dumb idea... but that moment where Charlie swatted Alastor's hand to reject his offer, it reminded me totally on that moment in the Manga "One Punch Man" where Garou rejected God's offer. but by just even grazing God's hand when he swatted it, he still could transfer some of his power to Garou, regardless if he didnt wanted to. on that moment with Charlie and Alastor in the pilot, it made me thinking if there could have been something similar. 🤔 like i said. just a dumb idea. but would be cool! right?

My theory is that Alastor went missing because he had access to somewhere forbidden like the living or other rings. There he gathered power. With that power maybe he was the one to kill the angel. I also think that Alastor had an Hell/Earth power access on the living which would explain his sudden power gain. Lastly I think that Alastor could have killed Vox in his fight but let him, because other than Vox , nobody ever said that Vox won the fight. Not to mention Vox during the song seend to be traumatized by the fight . It's also worth mentioning Val didn't say that Vox barely won against him. He said that Alastor almost defeated hin completely. That could mean that Alastor almost obliterated Vox and then let him live because he had other priorities

I think Alastor purposefully made the opening for his return by killing the angel. He might have left just to give time for Vox and the other vs time to rise in power so he could have fun knocking them down. Also, I'm impressed with Alastor's foresight in Mentioning Vox might only be powerful because of the other Vs as it weakens his support no matter how Vox responds. He will either have to prove Alastor wrong and essentially handicap himself or rely on the other Vs allowing Alastor to take down the illusion Vox is his equal.

one of the things i noticed lillith and alastor both dissapear for 7 years, lillith dissapearence is told to us by charlie and vaggie at the first chapter and at the second vox said alastor has been missing for 7 years, i dont doubt both dissapearences are connected since is the same ammount of years, so for me there are some possibilities, one lillith and alastor dissapear cause of a conflict between the two and alstor is now back for charlie this could involve a plot of alastor wanting to take down lucifer, two alastor and lillith being friends and dissapearing due to not wanting their duties and now alastor is back to help charlie under lillith orders or request, if we consider how powerfull alastor is i wont put it past him to have done a deal with lillith all those years back when he first emerged, like enough power to wipe out the past overlord only for alastor to have to uphold his end of the deal by helping charlie by any means nescesary

It's so interesting their rivalry. On one hand it seems one sided with Vox coming undone while Al is calm but the fact Alastor goes out of his way to clap back and mock Vox is more than he gives to most we see come after him like a certain snake so he acknowledged Vox as worth his attention. My guess is a fight between just them would be close but with the V's at his back Vox would most likely win but Charlie could change that

I don't think Alastor wants to take Vox out. I think he just having fun annoying him. Looks at real world, Radio is still around like talk radio or Siruis stations or Spotify if you prefer, have to have a paid subscription though. Which is why Vox at first wanted to invite Alastor on his team. Radio never went out. Alastor in the pilot mentioned he was bored, so I think helping Charlie gave him fun things to do, then along comes Vox which gave him more fun. So I think his fight with Vox if for fun. Plus yes he doesn't want Vox replace with a worse Overlord either.

What i find interesting (that i havent seen someone say yet) both Lillith (or atleast Charlie hasnt heard from her) and Alastor went missing for 7 years. I saw a Fancomic (forgot the name) where Alastor was working with or for the Morningstar Family maybe that could actually be cannon? What's funny about the radio versus TV is that everyone's screens are individualized to them there's tons of different social media there's tons of different television channels that are streaming cable over the air and every single program pales in comparison to the daily listeners of your average radio show in spite of the fact the market for radio hasn't grown for decades but millions of people listen to the same stations and radio shows giving those shows potentially more influence even though all the other media is growing it's not essentialized because everyone's attention is divided when it comes to what they're watching

I don't know if people have connected this idea yet, but Alastor was gone for 7 years, and at the start of the season lilith has been "Missing" for seven years. I believe Alastor and Lilith were doing something together, but Alastor came back on the command of Lilith to protect charlie from what ever may have cause Lilith to go missing.

So crazy theory, but in the new show it's stated that lilith has been missing for 7 years the same amount of this that Alister has been missing, I think that the two know each other and maybe Alister has struck a deal with Lilith, maybe he is the reason as to why she is missing, knowing that he is a cannibal makes me think he not only enjoys eating strong demons but also gains strength from the act. So that makes me believe that: 1. He is way stronger than the V's but is constrained by some kind of contract or similar situation 2. If my theory is right, that contract has something to do with Charlie, a backdoor to either save her and hell or to at least to protect Charlie from Alister maybe the supposed contract even makes it so he HAS to obey her until something happens, like for example until her dream comes true, if so, the moment that anyone manages to became a better person and stop being a demon that's when Alister restrains come off or the moment Charlie gives up her hopes and dreams, hard to say But what do you people think? Should I go look for tin foil or my theory it's actually pretty good?

I’m pretty sure Alastor made a deal with Lilith and that’s why he has the power to come back. I don’t buy that Alastor just disappeared for no reason for the last 7 years, or that that happens to be the same time Lilith has been missing. Either Alastor was diminished in some way and his deal with Lilith has re-empowered him to some degree or Alastor and Liliths disappearances are more directly linked, perhaps Alastor is a direct subordinate to Lilith. Alternatively Alastor has machinations beyond the scope of the other players, but I think a lot of Alastor’s power is in his presentation so we can’t trust his narrative, I even think a character in the third episode eludes to this with certain prodding questions. This character seems overtly friendly with Alastor however it seems to me they are acting antagonistically with a friendly facade.
