A sinister clown (Michael Dunn) boards the Seaview and replaces the crew with replicas that do his bidding. Captain Crane fights to save the crew.
Another Star Trek guest star comes boards the Seaview. Michael Dunn appeared in "Plato's Stepchildren" (season 3, episode 10) as Alexander. He also appeared in "The Wild Wild West" and many other series of the 1960's and early 1970's.
This episode is a recording from a recent HDTV broadcast of a newly transferred and restored film. The episode has been shortened by the rights holder to the current standard length for one-hour episodes through the use of cuts and increased frame rate. Additional audio and video augmentation by TooleMan TV, 2023.

Another favorite episode of mine. Wax zombie-like crewmen at the command of a midget clown and up to captain Crane to save the crew. I gotta hand it to Irwin Allen with his creative plots. Just love it.😁👍

We're doing a favor for the State Department. These are wax statues from the lost city of Atlantis. They'll be used in a big exhibition in Washington. One can see the Chief think "okay why did I bother".

That always bothered me also, all the different crazy things that they experience on that submarine, they always seem to be in disbelief when they face something else, you would think by now they would be aware that strange things happen 😵👽👾😱 especially aboard the Seaview. 1:15

Notice when Crane left the control room, with the torch, he went to the right through a curtain. What happened to the radio communitions, this is normally the area where Sparks sits. Always puzzled me. Only coloured episode where not seen.
