Thanks for your videos about this stage 2 tooned. Anyway, I have a MK5 Rabbit 2007. It has 232k kms. I want to make the car more fun to drive, I plan on driving this thing till its scraping the floor lol. It's either tune this or fork out stupid money for overpriced used cars in this market. Would you recommend stage 1 or stage 2? It'd be fun to track it at some point, but I am learning how to work on cars I've done valve cover gasket, oil changes, vacuum pump, so I have a little experience but still learning. What would you recommend? Also any recommendations for your exhaust?
@VoyageRC2 жыл бұрын
Stage 1 will make the car a lot more fun without having to swap any parts. Stage 2 will have a little more power and you will have to change the intake manifold. Both tunes make the vehicle more fun to operate. My exhaust has both mufflers and the resonator straight piped. AWE and some other brands make some good cat-back systems that you can bolt on.

Since you've had the IE stage 1 and 2 now, would you say the added cost was definitely worth it? Let me add a secondary question, would you say the stage 2 is worth it over stage 1 if you also had to swap from hydraulic PS to EPS? I'm trying to decide but not really wanting to put the money/effort into the swap for stage 2 if it doesn't make a big difference over stage1.
@VoyageRC3 жыл бұрын
The stage 1 drives the way the car should from the factory. Stage 2 adds more power at the top end. It pulls hard all the way to red line. It really depends on what you want from the car. Are you planning on boosting down the road? Just want a little more power? Etc.

Not a fan of the way it is setup. It pulls hot air into the system. You want the filter towards the front of the car to reduce your intake air temps. Not sure it would work with the stage 2 setup anyways due to the move in the throttle body location.

The power kit will work on manual and auto cars. The real factor is whether or not you have electric or hydraulic power steering. The manifold is not compatible with hydraulic power steering. You will also want to tune your transmission if automatic.

@@VoyageRC Thanks for the response. Found some info that it will be compatible if you have the the electric steering with an automatic. You just need to spend a lil extra, like about 300 bucks, for a special tune for the automatic. And after thats done, then its just as good.

Hilarious, I just happened to remember that I was waiting on your stage 2 video, and boom here it is. Definitely will have a couple questions. How is your fuel economy looking versus stock and stage 1? Is your low end power really better? From IE's charts stage 1 should offer very slightly better low end power.
@VoyageRC3 жыл бұрын
Gas mileage went down a little. Partly due to the slight loss of low end power. Honestly, it does feel better all around. But yes, the power curve on stage 2 is more high RPM.
@HyperSlayer723 жыл бұрын
@@VoyageRC "Loss of Low Power" and "Better all Around" Seem to contradict a bit ;). Would you say that stage 2 is bringing something extra to the low end that is causing you to feel this?
@VoyageRC3 жыл бұрын
@@HyperSlayer72 Its just a shift in the power band. It hits harder up top. Its hard to describe the low RPM range of power. Its not really a “loss” over stage 1 as much as you dont gain any down low. All the gains are mid to upper range. So really it just prefers to be in that range and driving like you typically would for good fuel economy, by keeping the RPMs low, doesnt work as well on this tune.
