I was 11 years old when this show came out. I remember learning so much about history. Each episode had 2, sometimes 3 storylines. "Take a voyage to your local library, it's all in books." This was during the time of "RIF". Reading Is Fundamental. I have the DVD collection of the series. Meeno Peluce was devastated by the death of Jon-Eric Hexum. He ultimately became a history teacher. Putting this show up against 60 Minutes for a huge mistake. I would love to see this return again. Thank you James D. Parriott for sharing your vision with us. "Smart kids give me a pain".

I hope you all enjoy this trip back in time to 1982 on a time travel series. The Voyagers was probably one of the best shows of the 80s to not really get a chance. It was filled with a lot of fun and adventure.

I was 9 years old when this came out and I remember watching this with my dad. We loved Sci-Fi shows and movies. He introduced me to Star Trek and we were both watching Star Trek Discovery when he got sick and passed away a week later.

It was really too bad they canceled it. It was really a brilliant show. It actually taught History, as well as entertaining. Meeno Peluce, was an excellent actor, and though he did work in a lot of shows, it seems he ended up with the short stick. Voyagers, and a couple of unsold TV Pilots . Seems he is a Professional Photographer. His sister, Soleil Moon Frye played the TV roll “Punky Brewster”.

thanks for the post tvcm. I was just at the age of not seeing it as originally aired, but in syndication(?). Very enjoyable show, cast and plots. It was probably among the shows that were getting to pricy to make. The locations, the stunts and 'practical' effects began to disappear from most shows throughout the 80's

I was 11 when Voyagers came out. I loved it. It was a historical adventure series that was a lot of fun. As you point out, I saw Meeno Peluce everywhere. But I knew him best from The Amityville Horror, which I saw at a drive-in a year before with a friend's family. I still remember him for two things: Voyagers and Amityville Horror.

Loved the video. I loved Voyagers as a kid. I have a couple fun facts for you guys as well. In the Abraham Lincoln episode, there is an extra marching with the troops. That extra was Luke Perry. And also Meeno Peluce, is the half brother of "Punky Brewster" herself Soliel Moon Frye.

I worked with props on multiple movies but only one with firearms and that was Olympus Has Fallen and we only used fake guns. Three types, realistic for up close that fired only blanks, non firing realistic for mid range shots and rubber firearms for far away. I still have a few of them.

Thanks for this video it was very fun! Very well put together! I would hate for a reboot because I can't quite imagine anyone but Jon-Erik and Meeno Peluce in the roles. Maybe a continuation! They could say that Voyager Bogg died a celebrated Hero to the cause. Meeno Peluce can be a distinguished Voyagers Headquarters Professor or one of the Tribunal. The last I heard he said he would be up for coming back. The TV show "Timeless" on NBC was a love-letter to Voyagers! as the director was a fan! They even used a number of similar historical foul-ups. I also always loved pointing out random goofs. I need to add my full list to my websites eventually. It's been a long time for an update.

I loved this show and just watched the whole series last summer again. There are some actual history issues that I wish weren't there, but it still stands tall amongst time travel shows for accuracy, so I will take it. Plus every episode ended with go read a book about it, so that would clear up the issues for people, just like it did me. : ) That they cancelled it for a show that tanked in the ratings and then Bog went and did that thing on the set of Dynasty, what a bunch of tragedies that followed. That they had fan meet ups on the set of Voyager was so awesome too.

Too bad I don't have an Omni to time travel and stop the cancelation of this show. Not only would we have gotten more episodes, but the new timeline would most likely derail the later tragedy.

I can tell you this, I think I used to catch just the very end of it when it first came on because it came on the same time my parents took me to church, and then a lot of parents probably had the TV on 60 minutes which came on at the same time.

@@tvcrazyman That makes sense. Sunday evening Church was the bane of my existence as a kid! If we did skip it and we were home in front of the t.v., I imagine we were watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom (after Disney). But we only had one television and dad didn't watch just any old kid's show. I'm still surprised I never tripped across it at that time - unless I did and for whatever reason my timing was bad and the scene/episode didn't grab my attention. Thanks for the info!

My decades later, retroactive head canon is that the "Voyagers" class was the first class of the Time Agency, and Captain Jack's Vortex Manipulator is the future version of an Omni. The Omni had an (unknown to Bogg) translation circuit. Somewhere, somewhen, Jack meets the only Time Agent more handsome and charming than he is and fanboys out hard.

In that gladiator episode there's also another blooper where while they're fighting, on the right of the screen you can see a jeep in the background. There's also an episode where Jeffrey and Bogg jump into the back of a covered truck and when Bogg slides the back cover down, you can see he's only pantomiming it. There's actually no back cover.
@tvcrazyman3 ай бұрын
I'm going to have see if I can find that jeep now.
@outsider2383 ай бұрын
@tvcrazyman It's at the beginning of the episode where the credits are running. Where "Directed By" shows up. It's either a jeep or a truck. Also in the Billy The Kid episode, there's a scene where Billy and Jeffrey are walking in town and the building behind them looks like the clock tower building from "Back To The Future" before it was turned into the clock tower. I wish I knew the title of the episode where Bogg is pulling down the cover (that's not actually there) on the back of the truck they jump into. It's a very obvious and funny goof.

I loved "Voyagers". I was disappointed when I heard about Mr. Hexum's death. Disappointed he wasn't smarter.
@ahhamartin3 ай бұрын
Wow aren't we judgemental in hindsight? The scene was his character making and loading blanks on a bed, Production was delayed midscene, so Hexum, who was due to catch a flight to another job, took a nap right there while waiting. When he woke up they were told production was STILL delayed. The whole tired crew grumbled and Hexum, still partially asleep, tried to liven their mood by jokingly "shooting" himself.... He had already loaded and unloaded for several takes so maybe he was too asleep to remember. Although just a blank, muzzle pressure drove a skull fragment into his brain. He had recently seen a tv show ("Hill Street Blues", a Emmy winning cop drama praised for it's supposed realism) where a character did the same with a blank, but was fine. The next scene had already filmed and was his character faking a murder by shooting "light load" blanks at another character harmlessly at close range. More importantly, since the bed scene didn't require firing the 629, only dummy rounds were supposed to be on the "bedroom" set. SAG rules required the armorer to secure firearms during down time but... Having had the benefit of being a PMI at Parris Island, I know all about muzzle bast. Hexum DIDN'T; he was a tired 27 year old with near zero firearms experience,

@billcary302 ай бұрын
both series with hexum should have done better than they did. this could have been great, maybe just one story per epiosde instead of multiple, and the other one from waht i've read had good ratings and was doing well till hexum died, and then everybody was just mailing it in adn when it got cancelled nobody really was disappointed. which is a shame for a few reasons. one you should never "mail it in" just cause life takes a bad turn. i get why it happened it's just not the thing to dod. from what i've seen of clips and such the episodes without hexum were jsut as good maybe even a bit better so not sure i totally buy into the "mailing it in " being what they did. the guy that replaced hexum did a good job, unfortunately it'd be anotehr few years before he'd get another good role, on the reboot/coninuation of mission impossible. another show that ended way to soon, but this was kind of understandable, given the fact that it only made the air cause of the writers strike at the time, and they got around that by reusing old scripts for a few episodes. though the one that's an obvious reuse, was really not since they tacked on a totall different ending and reason for what happened. so if you reuse a script its oik if you add stuff to it during a writers stirke, but can't write new ones....................? ok...........
