Quick and Dirty video that was recorded in the past. Trigger is meant to be a single stage. Pricing was confirmed at $309 USD and any issues I mention in this video are DIRECTLY attributable to the fact that this preproduction sat on trade room show floor for days being manipulated by the public there.

I really wanted to order one of these on the Black Friday sale, but I decided to buy a MonsterTech sim pit instead. I’m really interested in this grip, I just wish the reviews were out so I could answer a few questions. Do you know why NOOB said “it doesn’t feel like plastic?” I was under the impression that it was an all-metal grip? It would also be nice to have a dual stage main trigger, but there are two additional flip up/down triggers so maybe those will be good alternatives. I’m also stuck on the VMAX Prime Vs. CM3 throttle debate. I really like both but I’m not sure which is a better fit.

@@catsooeythe cm3 throttle is nice, if I was buying again I would buy it, or spend a little more for the upgraded version due to the QOL improvement, the comment of not being plastic is a huge difference. Hope you get your virpil stuff one day, it’s top notch and holds its value

@@br4nd0n79 Thanks, I’d love to fly with a full Virpil hotas setup. The problem with flight simming is that there’s so much gear out there! Lol It’s hard to prioritize what upgrades I should make and when to do it. I’m in the process of renovating my basement (new carpet, paint, etc) so my setup is on a dining room table right now. When I get the basement done my MonsterTech sim pit will be here and I’ll set that up downstairs. It’s not cheap but MT makes really great stuff, specially designed for flight simmers. Then I’ll figure out what Virpil gear to get. The only non-Virpil equipment I’m really interested in is the WinWing MIP system. I’m curious to see what extra goodies Virpil will send to people who experienced delays with the FLANKR and VMAX Prime. They said something about control panels, but I don’t know if they mean parts or a voucher for an actual control panel. Whatever it is I’m sure it’ll be cool. 🙂👍

When you do the full review can you talk about if the hat switches are gated - meaning once you start moving them in a direction its not possible to activate click in any other direction. The hat switches on my Mongoos stick and throttle are notoriously bad for this meaning you have to be very precise when activating them to ensure you don't do the wrong one by mistake.

On the store page they list that the main trigger is 1-stage, one of the flip triggers is 1-stage and one is 2-stage. Could you specify which one of the flip triggers is 2-stage, the small flip down one or the biggo flip-up one?

Looks great! But I'm still waiting for a grip with a non-spring-loaded thumbstick (throttle) single axis on it.

what is the use case for the throttle-thumbstick, speed limiter? you could try modding that.

Playing Space Simulation games like Star Citizen doesn't mean that we can't have a better, up-to-date and more beautiful stick. I have two alpha sticks and had a delta years ago and I didn't really like their visual design. It's not because I'm Space Sim enthusiast that I need to have a Sci-fi/Alien-looking design stick. I was very happy when they anounced the FLNKR, I preordered it only to realize that it will not have the twist axis. (It wasn't really specified on the website or in any advertising). It's simple, just add the twist axis for those who want it and add the locking option like on the alpha or delta. But it lead me to this question : Is the twist axis intentionally not added because if their were one, the locking screw would not be able to correctly maintain the screw that block the stick ? Like a locked twist axis is not capable to endure a lot of movements after multiple repeated periods ? In this case, I can understand that they didn't want to mess up with their jet fighter fan base, but if not, I don't really understand why they would cut themseves off from a significant part of their fan base (Space Sim enthusiast).
@NOOBIFIER13374 ай бұрын
@@Artokieffer I can answer easy. The screw lock is very effective but it might be that by not having z, they were able to keep the cost down by an extra $25 for something that most jet pilots wouldn’t want anyway
@Artokieffer4 ай бұрын
@@NOOBIFIER1337 oww, okay. If this is just that it would be so much cool to have 2 versions of the FLNKR (one with twist axis and the other one without) or to have the possibility to buy an adaptater like for the MCG Pro from VKB. Thank you for the answer. :)

I don’t own any Virpil gear yet, but I’m planning on getting a complete setup. I just can’t decide between the new FLANKR and VMAX Prime throttle vs. the CM3 and Constellation Alpha Prime. I fly mostly on DCS World, although I might get into space sims at some point in the future (Eve Online looks really cool1). What has your experience been like with the Const. Alpha Prime? Would you recommend it?

The lack of a lockable twist grip is a red line for me. No reason not to have one on a modern grip now. Completely disagree with the concept that this needs to be an exact replica. There is no difference if the twist is lockable. Would get this if it had a lockable twist axis. I don't like pedals so it's not about using it for space sims.
