thank u so much for this..once I figured out that little bump and fixed my humidity, my plants have come a long way..I am now 3 weeks plus a few days into flower, stretch has now slowed significantly and they look absolutely amazing..they both now almost 5 feet tall and budding oh so beautifully..I am hoping to possibly(as long as things stay well) doubling my last yeild(first ever grow) of 9.4oz off 2 plants..with thanks to all of u guys to answering every question with great detail every time!! theres only so much research u can do on ur own, and sometimes its just best to ask someone who's been there and faced it all..Mark, ur videos never disappoint and always very informative!

How did you fix your humidity? I tried putting a dehumidifier in my tent and it rose my temperature to over a hundred degrees. Fixed my humidity but my temps were way out of range. Took out dehu and fixed temps but humidity shoots back up. I got fans blowing in there, good strong air flow. AC infinity 8 inch fan sucking out at level 6. VPD with LEDs is like chasing after a rabbit. I’ve gotten better nugs out of fluorescent lights. Running two hlg 600 rspecs. Might get a half lb out of a 5 x 10. Sad and pathetic.

As an outdoor grower, I'm not so ignorant to dismiss this without listening. Just because I cant control much of my environment doesn't mean I can't use this info to help diagnose issues. I've had a lot of rain for this area about a month ago (close to flooding, I live on the flood plains in Queensland Aus, were we sometimes get washed away) and the humidity has been extreme, so up until now I've been diagnosing, these phantom soil deficiencies that I've never had, in the plants, trees and even some grass, but now it all makes sense and now I'm hoping the trace elements foliar spray I've been using doesn't come back to bite me. I love these nerd out sessions with Mark, tha fam at PG and friends. TY.

I used VPD, during my last grow, using my new ROI-E680 8 bar LED and monitored VPD multiple times everyday. My first time using it. I used the VPD calculator and the Infrared light meter, checking leaf temperature at multiple locations. Not sure if it helped or it was my new light success, but I think it was a very positive condition that we should all try to achieve. I’m going to always try to be close to those spec’s going forward during the 3 life cycles. Glad I saw this video!!!! 👍👍

VPD other than genetics, light and feeding is probably the single largest factor in producing truly great flower. I've been getting much better growth density and flavor. Also, your interview style is great I watched this three times. 5 weeks have passed and I harvested 4 narcotic Kush aotoflowers. Two were in a room where I was able to keep vapor pressure at a pretty consistent level of "1", RH versus temp. The other two were left to mature without adherence to VPD. The VPD room had denser buds and produced 1.5 times the finished weight more than the non VPD. I'm into cure now and am impressed with my test flower grown under controlled VPD conditions. I'm curing now and actually have a side by side flower to compare. I'll b try and update again when the cure is done. I'm working off the Pulse chart that you have in this video.

I know that if I'm warmer I will drink more and/or uptake more. They are both in range and will supplemented C02 be limited by this different in temperature also? Thanks again for your time and effort I really do appreciate your hard work and sacrifice.

During my last grow I definitely seen the uptake of nutrients much better after having all the elements down (essentially needed to feed less), question I have is the transition from completion of flower to drying. Since I have higher temps where I live (above 90), I had to kick up the humidity to hit that 1.1 range which did not result in any powder mildew but do you think there is a shock that occurs since we can’t take the same logic of VPD in drying and need to reduce the temps significantly?

I've seen a number of VPD videos now and I noticed that there is very little conversation as to what the ideal numbers are for cannibus. I just here "high" or "low" without any numbers. I have the chart and see the green range. But that range is very big in my opinion. I been aiming for roughly 1.1- 1.3 based on the chart I have, what I think I know, and the phase of the plant.

I need to make a correction. I started doing things right by using a VPD calculator and not just a chart. Also i began to take the temp of the leaves and not just the air. I been around 0.40 - 0.80 while in early veg this past week.

Another good video Mark. Stays on point the whole video. One thing I would like to point out, in regards to the charts that you showed. And the charts that I have tried to use. From my experience with these charts is that the temp's and the percent of humidity are WAY to high. Like when this guy said to have your temps at 85. Like he said people worry about losing terps. But he acted like you shouldn't worry about it. I must disagree. That is way to hot. And your quality will suffer. Also in regards to those charts is. When I walk into my flower room. And I can feel the humidity. To me that is way to high. If I can feel my pours closing because of the high humidity. What do you think is happening to your plants. In my opinion all these charts are garbage.

Just using a box fan to blow air in most of the time could be a reason my buds are rather small? Guess I should use the top vent out a lot more? Healthy plants with small buds, so frustrating. I'll get there though, it's a journey.
@charleslyons829
@charleslyons829 2 жыл бұрын
I dont think it's the fan.....I think your bacterial and fungi are not in an ideal situation to upload nutrients. Suggestion: Recharge. I think using an exhaust fan at the top of your tent will help with temps and humidity as heat rises. Use an oscillation fan on the floor of the tent to help push temps down as well as humidity. I also think you need an ppm meter to get your plants closer to the range they need to be in for what ever stage of growth they are in.

@marktaylor688
@marktaylor688 2 жыл бұрын
Don’t lower your humidity….if you’re VPD is too low you need to raise it. I know for me, the optimal VPD chart (for flowering) calls for a much higher relative humidity than I’ve ever ran. Week 2 of flower, under LEDs the best temp is 80-84f w/ a RH of 60-65%. As you progress in flower it’s best to lower both incrementally w/ your last 2-3 weeks in mid 70s w/ RH around 45%….
@kittywampus
@kittywampus 2 жыл бұрын
@@marktaylor688 I think you have it reversed. Higher humidity, if temp remains the same, will give you a lower vpd. I just sprouted. I'm at around 75°f and 70% humidity. As I drop my humidity my vpd rises. @steph Coleman If you are using the AC Infinity controller you'll see the change. Make sure you use the leaf temperature offset to be more accurate.

I use 5% of additional far red and I think it heats the leaves excessively compared to a PAR without 730. .. having a staggered VPD and a lot of transpiration which definitely compromises the terpenes (strangely little odor with lots of trichomes). I also see leaves with raised tips due to little water and salt concentration) high EC) with the first signs of calcium deficiency (mobile element) .. the terpenes are severely affected despite the trichomes we are abundant ... 20/23 cesius e 35/40 humidity. .... too much perspiration ... I remedied with mulch or mats that block rapid evaporation ... I wet every other day

if your not in the proper vpd range then your temp and humidity are not good, just acceptable. aside from your light its the most important part of your environment. it wasnt a big topic but vpd has a direct impact on how much CO2 your plants take in, and how much water they go through. id go for vpd before most other things because everything is affected by vpd. its not hard to maintain or anything. a $25 controller and a humidifier and dehumidifier and im good all year Re-watch the video if you dont think vpd is that important

@@swankshire6939 you're legit saying VPD is the most important factor for good weed after light? When people are just now worrying about it and have been growing amazing bud for years. Your vpd could be perfect but shitty nutes, schedule, training, airflow, Ipm, genetics, watering..you could forget about VPD like 99% of growers and probably not even have a noticeable difference cut out any of those and you're not gonna have great bud or yield.
