I've had mine for a year now, I don't think there's a better table you can buy for the money. Period. Still loving it. And don't skimp on the cartridge!

Very interested in this table. A friend got the Prime table last year and it is an amazing upgrade over my old and cherished Sony PS X6 and Rega Planar 2 turntables. I’d already thought I was hearing more than from CDs with those tables but compared to the VPI Prime? Haa I wasn’t hearing the half of it. It’s no joke, tables like these are a so revealing and resolving of details like depth, the air and space around acoustic instruments and vocals that those old DD tables and budget tables, good as they are, cannot begin to compete with these.

At 3:56 to 3:59 the video image shows the turntable running counter clockwise. They probably just reversed the image. A small detail, but for a $3,000.00 turntable the editors should have shown it running clockwise.

Yes, it shares many of the charitaritics of the other VPI turntables. Cheap particleboard, spray painted with black spray paint. Look closely at the black texture, that is the surface of the compressed sawdust that the particleboard is made of. Lowgrade aluminum platter, no highgrade 6065 aircraft aluminum there. Designed to keep the manufacturing cost down and profits up. These are the visible parts, whats underneath is what counts. Don't look under the hood, it's just depressing.

Entry level pricing my friend, entry level. I've 'only' got a Rega RP3 but might buy this soon. Seriously though, if you think $2200 is expensive for a turntable system, spend 5 minutes googling hi-end turntables. Some retailers barely sell cartridges for that money, let alone a whole turntable. Turtables that cost more than your house are scarily easy to find.

Call me old style,but for this amount of cash i want a deck with a q-locked servoregulated drive,auto stop and lift up at the end of play,or even better a autoreturn. I certainly dont want a deck where i have to touch the belt to change speeds. And a hinged dustcover of course .

+Zockopa turntables like these are much more about performance as opposed to convenience. Most high end tables are belt-drive and manual.

Amen Zockopa! These modern weird looking turntables are nothing but hipster gadgets. You have to rob a bank to be able to buy one and then you still have to manually change the freaking belt to change rpm. Belt drives suck to begin with.

@@roelheijmans The reason for the manual belt change is to reduce moving parts hence better tone. If a deck had all the things you're asking for (automated parts) its tone would degrade dramatically
