This episode proves David’s insightfulness is really the star of the show.

Massive fan of Mr Heaney and enjoyed the show. I missed the bit re removing the boundary in mixed reality though.

Obviously not as good as a normal show but very glad that you're keeping that consistency. Even without the debate it's still the most astute commentary on the VR industry that you can get anywhere. Re. Meta as a data driven company... So true, and that fills me with dread. Forget the long tail of the high end enthusiasts, it's all about the lowest common denominator

I think bundled finance is a great eay to sell quest 3. I tend to prefer outright buying things but with a limited budget this allows enjoying someting now and not having to save. As an additional option it makes sense

Oh my god, this is so much more concise and non-enraging without Ian arguing nonstop about nintendo joycons...

I had no idea there was a Quest Seal.

I would much rather the existence of the S line provide them the room to push Quest 4 further. It needs to be at a minimum, a Quest 3 with eye tracking. Really it needs to have a jump in most other areas over the 3, like the 3 had over the 2, otherwise what would be the point of it. That can't be done at $400. I think a $300 Q4S and a $600 Q4 would be the best way to go.
@joshuadadad54143 ай бұрын
I agree eye tracking is a minimum upgrade for Q4. However this may be something that in two years time is cheap enough that it can exist in a budget headset. We already have one company touting they can do it for a BOM cost of $10
@lowrider27563 ай бұрын
I think we will rather see a quest 4 with fresnel lenses and no eye-tracking, because meta wants as many frequent user as possible to promote their horizon os. For this reason other players like sony and apple are very important which operate in the rather highend spectrum.

If Quest 3-->4 follows the same cycle as Quest 2-->3, it would be expected to launch in October 2026. That would give enough time for meaningful improvements at $400. Though of course this very much so depends on inflation.
@Shalashaska1113 ай бұрын
@@Uploadvr Improvements in the chip perhaps. But it would be a Q1 > Q2 situation at best, where other things would be sacrificed for an ultimately cheaper device. I think the 4 needs to be the all-round upgrade from the 3, that the 3 was from the 2. With the S-line firmly in place, they will have the entry level covered. I think plenty of people would be happy to go to $599 if it meant another substantial upgrade. The Pro line is not marketed towards gaming, I think they need a "halo" gaming model that maintains the prestige and position they have currently with the 3.

If you have a good product at a cheap price, as Quest2 was it will sell like hotcakes. You don't need equations and fancy sales experiments to figure that out. 😂😂😂
