This is my first VR set, after a few nights on getting it to work just right with DCS, I went on my first flight. I launched off a air craft carrier, flew up past the clouds, went into enemy territory, doged a missel, went int oa turn with a Russian fighter, got clipped, flew at mach speeds to the ground and exploded.....OH MY GOD, it was worth it right then, just that moment. It was everything I thought it would be, and I hyped up the VR experience in my head for years, AND IT WAS AWESOME! I had that chrtimas morning feel, that feeling when you were a kid, woke up, and felt that excitement to play a game asap...being in my mid 30s that feel is not a daily occurnace.

Exactly... The first time I was on a ship in Elite Dangerous, in VR, a feeling-thought flooded me: "i don't want to play anything else ever"... Of course not... I still play many other games... but that feeling... once in a life.

@@buzzfunk Its all about budget, I could afford to buy a PC with a 4070 which has done well for me. But a 4080 would be recommended. If money is no issue get the 4090 if you want butter smooth gameplay at 120mhz

the first VR experience is amazing. It also was for me with Quest 2 even though it looked so shitty. Same with Reverb g2 after not using VR for a long time. But after the initial experience, I realize it actually looks shit. Nevermind being uncomfortable. I havent tried Pimax Crystal, know it looks better, I 100% doubt it looks good enough but want to try. I wonder how good you think it is now 2 weeks later if you have had chance to use it a lot.

Got the PSVR2 when it was $350 over the summer with the thought of just seeing what VR is about and it’s been better than expected. I got the adapter for the pc to play Half Life Alyx and other than some initial Bluetooth struggles it worked fantastic once set up. On the PS5 I’ve played RE Village and RE4 Remake which have been phenomenal and are the perfect games for VR. The only downside I’ve found is when the wife records you looking ridiculous and calls you a dork. Lol! All in all I’m glad I gave it a try.

not really. got lighthouse faceplate, two basestations 2.0. steam vr index and pimax sword controllers. the jitters on screen and drifting of the controllers are not fun at all. and that for well over 2k euros

As someone that's been using the Quest 2 since it launched, I will never spend another cent on a headset featuring "Standalone" or "Wireless". Wired PCVR exclusive is the only way to go, and I'm glad to see the market getting more options this year.

Yeah I ended up sending mine back for a refund due to significant warping in the right lens and severe chromatic aberration in both lenses. Also something they don't mention is that the focal distance on the crystal light is much closer than any other VR headset due to it trying to appeal to the flight sim community. So for shooters like Ghost of Tabor where you need to look into the distance you get an almost fish eye lens effect that gave me significant eye strain. For context I have owned and used a Rift S, Quest 2, HP Reverb G2, Index, Quest pro, Quest 3, Bigscreen Beyond and the Crystal Light and none of the other headsets have these problems.

Very happy playing Skyrim with my Quest 3. VR headsets need to adopt 240hz, even if it's just alternating 120hz per-eye (same CPU load but half GPU load) we need to get latency down for high fidelity hand movement.

Steam vr tracking dosnt have any noticeable latency , also 120 is fine for vr hardware isnt there to feed 240hz anything in vr 120 is a lot for most games and with heaset res going up its ever worse for the perf need. (quest pro with steam vr gloves and a 4090)

@@angrygreek1985 As I was saying alternating 120hz per-eye gets you 240hz latency at the same GPU cost as normal synchronized 120hz.

When it looses tracking, there is a "re center" button that quickly puts you back in place, but yeah the controllers are not the best.

Conner, Flatpanelshd just posted an article on a TCL CSOT 4k 27" IJP prototype. A 27" version of the prototype they've shown at CES the past 3 years or so that you covered before. The difference this time is though, is that they've actually started mass production on a smaller 21.6" 4k panel for medical use this year. This bodes well for the 27" panel being produced next year most likely. This could be an interesting option in the monitor space cuz RGB stripe pixel layout and better ambient light handling than QD-Oled. Sadly, they're still quoting a 120hz refresh and 250 nits fullscreen with 600 nits 10%. On the bright side though ABL will probably be better than QD-Oled but it won't have super bright specular highlights like MLA W-Oled.

do you own an index or bigscreen beyond? i can easily play for over 5 hours with my index, and it has made me realize that comfort is one of the most important factors in a headset. does the pimax have speakers or what are you using for audio? love the vr videos and hope to see more 😍

I would like a VR that completely substitutes a monitor for PC gaming. With ITX, you can have the ultimate power and portability that laptops cannot dream of. I don´t care if the games are not VR, I would be fine playing in a simulated monitor if it has comparable quality to a real one.

I have both psvr2, and quest 3. I love my quest 3. I rarely use my psvr2, in general, the motion and resolution on games is horrible. But quest, with quest games optimizer, is amazing, no pc required

pimax is great in that off chance you get a headset that isnt defective and you can get the software to turn on in under 45 minutes. People should just buy a quest 3 its a near top tier headset for an amazing price that just works, picture quality is pretty bad though in the color accuracy department.

i got a 14900ks, rtx 4080 super, 64gb ddr5 6000mhz. pimax crystal light with lighthouse faceplate, i got the sword controllers combined with two basestations vive 2.0. and also got steam index controllers with two dongles. and when the headset is completly stationary it seem to jitter on its own. and the drifting of especially the sword controllers is driving me nuts. i mean once im inside of an f1 car or airplane in msfs2024 it's fine. alsong i dont touch the controllers. because the displays seem to jitter more extreme when there is a controller involved. so yeah please pimax... fix this :(

Been in the market for a new headset as Microsoft is killing WMR. I still love the Samsung Odyssey+ I got for $200 4 years ago, but I guess I need to upgrade. Only downside I have of my current one is that it also has the stuttery looking controllers. Sucks you either have to choose between OLED or 120hz today. Playing Beat Saber 90hz just doesn't feel like enough for the higher difficulties. The PSVR2 has both, but it also has motion smoothing making it a no go for Beat Saber. Really looks like the Quest 3 is still the only option. Sucks as the colors and contrast really aren't that great on it.

Pimax Super will have bigger FOV, smaller form factor and OLED, also the 12K in the pipeline with massive FOV. Have a reverb G2 with face mod but FOV really kills immersion for me
