I was literally just thinking about the possibility of a VR game where you move around in an electric wheelchair and youtube recomends this, perfect!

i'm trying to do something similar, but i don't know why i ca move one hand at time. for example: i move both controllers but only left hand moves, but if i press any button of the right controller, right hand start moving but left hand don't. what could it be? i tried to follow you steps until placing the pawn but nothing. i'm using an oculus quest so i must launch the game everytime -.-

Hi Great Tutorial! I have one question, I'm using unreal engine with version 4.27.1 and I don't the hands skeletons there. how can I import the meshes? do I need to install version 4.18.3 and get from there or is there another way? (didn't find good ones in the marketplace)
@marcoghislanzoni3 жыл бұрын
The hand meshes as well as the "old" template are in 4.26.x. Not sure if Epic is still distributing them a separate assets, I don't think so unfortunately.
@yasmeen31653 жыл бұрын
@@marcoghislanzoni I will try to get it from there. Thank you.

How would I convert that to be used on an object rotation rather than having the pawn attached. As in I walk up to the button, contact with my hand, and it performs the rotation.
@marcoghislanzoni6 жыл бұрын
For that I would just create an actor blueprint containing the object you want to rotate. The root should be a scene component, then you can add two spheres for controlling the rotation and the main object to rotate. On the overlap of the two spheres with the VR pawn, you can use AddRelativeRotation to rotate the main object mesh in one direction or the other. It should be pretty straightforward.

How do i get teh Motion Controller Events? Its not an option for me, when i search in my inputs
@marcoghislanzoni3 жыл бұрын
If you don't them you need to define then as inputs in project settings --> inputs

This tutorial helped me out a lot but I hit a wall again trying to do a full body IK. Do I need 3 point sensors to achieve that or can i do it with just an hmd and the motion controllers ?
@marcoghislanzoni5 жыл бұрын
The 3 point sensors is for better tracking, it doesn't really help with body IK. What would help is to have more trackers on your body.
@Phoenix_VR6 жыл бұрын
can this be combined with the VR 3rd person body method u made before?
@marcoghislanzoni6 жыл бұрын
Sure, it can.

Yo could you try and remake the gorilla tag controls in unreal?
@marcoghislanzoni2 жыл бұрын
Sorry don't know what you are referring to as Gorilla Tag controls
@ItzLeX272 жыл бұрын
@@marcoghislanzoni Using your arms to move. Like you have to touch the ground in the game to move forward. Just look up a video of gorilla tag. But essentially walking, running, wall jumping, sliding on slippery surfaces, and very hard to do but still possible wall running. But this is all done with the movement of your hand and not a joystick combo’d with a button.
@marcoghislanzoni2 жыл бұрын
@@ItzLeX27 Got it. There are some tutorials around for arm swing movements in VR. I guess that is what you are looking for.

@ItzLeX272 жыл бұрын
@@marcoghislanzoni Nono not arm swing movement it's hand swing movement. Your hand touches the ground and you jump. You use this to move around the map.
