This video can be satisfactorily viewed on a flat screen. But for the very best effect, we strongly recommended using an HMD (head mounted display).

I am learning Japanese Jujutsu , including Hakkoryu techniques. Hakkoryu is relatively new Jujutsu, established in 20th century. i feel that, Hakkoryu needs hard enough training all its on, but needs no power. We Japanese have only smaller bodies than Americans or Europeans, so these techniques are suitable for us when we are may be against kinds of giants like you!

I vote for you to go to the dojo and fight him. So we can see how effective the technique is👍

@@danielgreen2975 You comment is weird why should i fight him by grabbing him this way they do in the video?What will that prove?
@danielgreen29758 ай бұрын
@thorsmikael9482 Not every person or street fight is the same. Anything could happen, he's just giving a demonstration if that kind of situation does occur. For you to just say, they live in a fantasy world. It is disrespectful.

Yes it could be jujutsu or bujutsu which is the forerunner of Aikido. those techniques I learned it from combat aikido.

His techniques look very much like Daitoryu Aikijutsu.

this is where Hakko ryu came from...

His speech sounds very much like the teachings of Morihei Uyeshiba, the Founder of Aikido. O'sensei (Uyeshiba sensei) often spoke of living kindness, peace and harmony!

First of the all, the first-person-view 180-degree VR is effective in this video: more martial arts videos like this would be welcome. Second, how unusual is it that an African American man is representing a traditional budo in a formal capacity, with high rank in the ryu, in the hombu, coordinating the demo of the future inheritor of the ryu? Miller’s roots in the art must be deep if he trained with the arts founder, at a time when Japanese culture was more xenophobic, so this wasn’t just window dressing for a multicultural KZbin audience.

Unfortunately, Miller has forgotten the meaning of Hakko Ryu characteristics: "The three major characteristics of Hakko Ryu are: No Challenge - No Resistance - No Injury - With Hakko Ryu, for the first time, the eyes of the dragon are drawn." Shodai Soke Okuyama Ryuho No challenge is a reference to accepting or giving challenges to competitive jujitsu bouts or matches. This notion greatly distinguished Hakko Ryu from many modern style which thrive on competition. No resistance is that your opponent does not resist your when training. Again, in most modern jiu-jitsu schools, opponents actively resist during sparring. No injury, the quote used to be "why get beat up and bounced around in order to avoid being beaten up and bounced around." I am certainly happy that our group left Hakko Ryu Jujitsu under Nidai Soke - The Art has degenerated under his direction - technically and philosophically. Joe Hoffer - Sandaikichu Hakko Denshin Ryu Jujutsu - second degree black belt Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
