I'm using Vray 5 but when I exported the object into a proxy, there's no multi material. Do you know why?

Have you checked the proxy mesh Material section of the object in the Geometry tab?

Hi i have a question when I click export to proxy it goes directly to the save as window and there's no export proxy window with the preview type, faces in preview; after the save window it just asks "do you want to replace selection with proxy?" Is this becquae of the version? Im using 3.4

Hello :) Yes, with VRay 3.4 the proxy gets saved without any preview windows. Just remember to save all materials related to the object before turning it into a proxy and having a copy of the object on hand if you'll be editing it later. Proxies are prone to glitching sometimes :)

Hi, thank you so much for the tutorial. Since I'm new to vray next, I wanna ask u about the multimaterials cause i can never seem to find it everytime I export a proxy. The material tab just shows the original list of material w/o the multimaterial that supposed to be added after a proxy just exported (plz correct me if I'm wrong). Can u tell me what i did wrong? I.m using vray 4.2

Hello Steffi :) Okay well I have a few solutions you can try and let me know how it goes: 1- do you purge before or after creating a new proxy? 2- did you try saving and closing your model, then opening it back up again and see if everything loads correctly? 3- did you try importing the proxy into a different file from the one it was created in? In theory, all VRay plugins work, more or less, the same; the only difference is the modeling app. So yes, this does work for VRay for Revitt but you can't use the same exact steps or you might not find similar options 😅
