As some may have noticed this tutorial may seem not to work as of 2024 Here is the solution! Firstly grab BHaptics package: github.com/HerpDerpinstine/bHapticsOSC/releases/tag/v2.1.2 Download "bHapticsOSC_v2.1.2_VRCSDK.unitypackage" Import this package into your unity! Next go here: github.com/hai-vr/av3-animator-as-code/releases/tag/V1-2022-04 Download "Source code (zip)" Unzip/Extract the file you should see "av3-animator-as-code-1-2022-04" as the name Drag that folder into your "Assets" tray in unity Wait for it to load ⭐You should now be able to see BHaptics⭐

I had a build fail when I went to upload it. I'm not sure if the scripting was for 2019 Unity or the current one, but I deleted the null script in the "Haptic Plug" asset, and it built. this was for the recent unity version

@@PxINKY got the download as refeared on the pinned comment, and still dont show up for me on unity when search, also, getting this error on unity Assets\av3-animator-as-code-main\av3-animator-as-code-main\Packages\dev.hai-vr.animator-as-code.v1.base.test\Tests\V1VRC\PlayMode\GenerationTests\AIACVRCExtensionsDriverGenerationTest.cs(1,25): error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'VRC' does not exist in the namespace 'AnimatorAsCode.V1' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

I tried to add the component on my avatar but when I try and search it up in the component tab nothing is there, and when I try to drag and drop the "bHapticsOSCIntergration" onto the root of my avatar/in the inspector and I got an error saying "Can't add script component 'bHapticsOSCIntegration' because the script class cannot be found. Make sure that there are no compile errors and that the file name and class name match.", I know this was video was nearly a year ago so its probably outdated or something but do you have a solution?

Bhpatics OSC component not showing up, I'm assuming it's due to them updating VRChat to the 2022 version of unity? I hope you can make an updated video on this if possible as there isn't any other tutorial as of now unfortunately

For some reason it still not work here , it works on " test build " where you don't actually upload avatar , but when it's actually uploaded to vrchat servers .. it doesn't work anymore any idea ? can't find info

Do you have the OSC app for bhaptics? Did you set up the app properly? Do other avatars with bhaptics work but not yours?

@@PxINKY i have everything setup and running osc app and bhaptics player , also for some reason sometime clicking reset osc settings in radial menu maked it work with current avatar .... Thats weird but why not '-'

Dumb question but when the bhaptics fx layer is added it doesn’t delete any pre existing fx layers does it?

Shouldnt, i believe it clones it. If it does, just duplicate it before merging

@@TheMarioManiac since its contact dependant you can only use contacts, aka senders But if you want friends to use weapons or such just tell them to add hand-senders on their props

This seems to be only working for old avatars using Unity 2019. When trying with ne one using 2022 it does not work. bHaptics won't even show up in the components. Would be very appriciated if an updated tutorial is possible.

Did you import "animator-as-code" (make sure its the main branch and not the "beta" branch)

Is it true that haptics will always make avatars very poor? I was about to upload this on good avatar so my friend would finally join me on world that have performance limitation, but then i heard that i doesn't matter which avatar i use it wont help.

I think its because of all the detector objects (contact recievers) that are placed on your avatar VRChat has some wacky restrictions

if you remove some conctact point go in the vest prefab,remove self keep others and then you can remove some of the others from side so it will be poor and you can party in it :D i hope i could help

Whenever I try to add the Bhaptics component I get hit with a "No custom FX layer found" I created the model in Vroid and I'm suspecting that's the problem. But I wanted to know if you had a possible fix for it.

you will need to make an FX layer, assuming your avatar does not come with one you can do this by either duplicating VRChats included one, or making one from scratch

I don't know if anyone will see this but whenever I upload it the back side is always flipped on the back vest, so if right shoulder is tapped, left shoulder activates, and if left shoulder is tapped, right shoulder activates, does anyone know what went wrong for me? ;_;

You can try setting the injected pre-fab to be flipped (change the scale axis by -1)

I tried following this and everything seemed to go well even it showing up in the animator. But doesnt work in game for unknown reason, I noticed that the blue contact points are there in Unity (Edit: Ive noticed the contact points I just overlooked the fact they arent completely shrinking with the scaling of the vest? Maybe that is the issue? They do get close to the avatar but stop scaling at a certain point that is much too large.)(

You have to download an run an OSC while the game is running. There's another tutorial on KZbin that explains it. I had the same problem.

You can add a toggle to the container with all the contacts, therefor disabling it for everyone or you can turn off OSC when you arent using it

its a bit finicky, go back and carefully make sure you get the av3 zip file and extract the file content into the projects asset folder, along with the unity package, that should fix it

Ok SO. I have done everything that every tutorial has told me I set up the OSC and the colliders for it in Unity correctly. The problem is that the colliders dont show up after I updated the avatar in vrchat. When I try to use another compatible avatar for it, It shows the colliders, it shows that they are working in vrchat but it still doesn't go through to the vest. Any idea how I can fix this?
