Now that I’ve had the chance to actually use my haptics vest for over a month now I can honestly say that it leaves a lot to be desired especially if only in VRCHAT. I want to be able to feel the world interact not only when players touch.

I'd agree - if you just want VRChat support, the TactSuite Air makes more sense than the Pro. There is a huuuge step up from "no haptics" to "having any form of body haptics." Going beyond that likely needs tighter game integration than what VRChat can provide. (There are inexpensive DIY means to add haptics, including modding your full-body trackers like I have, but I appreciate not everyone has FBT nor wants to fuss about with troubleshooting those kinds of solutions.)

How would you go about DIYing haptics onto trackers? That sounds really interesting.

@@FeneFeline One of the DIY options is a project called "Haptic Pancake" - it involves either 3D printing (for Vive Trackers) or adding in a circuit board inside the base (for Tundra Trackers - which I have). You should be able to find this open-source project by searching. (There are risks with DIY'ng, so it's probably worthwhile researching and asking around.)

ive been unable to get it to work, ive tried everything on pc. i have the air, but the only thing that has worked is audio triggering and the bhaptics app on quest.

I have a B-hapticX40, and it's a great device if you want to feel more realism when people hug or lay there head on your belly. I just hope VRC makes some sort of native support for it so all the parts of a avatar can interect with it, and other items in world. A mod for Boneworks has in my opinion the best simulation of eviorment. from falling to bumping to even fighting.

I know he uses a base model called a Soap Dog, pretty much everyone uses base models and makes their own iterations off of them, with some mild exceptions like very large creators and those who dedicate a LOT of time to making them

I actually got the haptic vest working for like a morning. Haven’t been able to set it up again though. It’s definitely worth it but so difficult to setup.

There’s a guide linked in the description. The same site has some PCVR info too if you click the other topics. It’s a bit tricky, but if you have uploaded a vrchat avatar before, it’s just a matter of adding two Unity packages and then adding the bHaptics device.

Can you test Standable on a Quest 2 using only Virtual desktop and steam vr? No settings or anything messed with? Running it on a cheaper gaming laptop and need to see if this is worth it. I'm also only 4 foot 10 and heard you need to be taller for this to work is that true? :( My bed is also floor mattress so it's shorter than 4 feet, how will I calibrate? and also how do you calibrate while standing and then get back onto the bed without the trackers messing up? Do you have to stay in one spot? Please respond i'm buying it tonight :( I dont wanna accidentally waste my christmas money

The idea of haptics is very cool but it’s always gonna feel like a huge step to get unless it’s wrapped in with another technology, which… doesn’t seem that unlikely. If we’re going to be putting on suits or vests to give us haptics, how long is it gonna take for a company to give the haptic suits legs and sleeves, and use those for full body tracking as well? They’d certainly be more accurate since each haptic’s location relative each other is known and unchanging. Wrapping both sets of technology into one single object just seems like the smart move. Absurdly expensive I can imagine but, smart nonetheless

for some reason the osc debug does not seem to detect the haptics vest but the osc for the vest does detect the vrchat client. not sure why or what to do, tried every version of the osc. tactsuit air v1.1 and player v2.5.3.57. osc currently v1.1.4.

Really interesting stuff! I am an avid VR chat player and I use Full Body Tracking through Tundra trackers. I would be curious to know if there's any way to somehow combine the two experiences, but I would expect the vest to shake the chest/hip trackers too much and cause drift.

Obviously this product is not worth its cost to simply chat with friends in a virtual world but outside of VR, these vests are well worth the cost. Yes, it's great for VR games but it's no less great for non-VR games which represent a much larger portion of people who may be interested in the product. I only have a Woojer Strap 3, a simple belt with a single haptic speaker placed on the chest and even with only one of its vibration generators, I can't do without it to play games even on a single screen and especially I can't do without it to listen to music. This is only very briefly discussed in the video but listening to a concert recorded live in good quality with this kind of device, even as small as mine, is really like believing you're in the room in the first row with the speakers spitting watts directly in your face. To conclude, even if the chain seems to only be worn on VR only, it is really sad not to address all the situations in which this type of accessory can be useful. This greatly limits his abilities and also his interest when he is much more than present. For those who are skeptical about the fact that this would be a possible revolution in the way we play, rest assured because the revolution is real and is not limited to simple games. Don't judge the product based on reviews from people who just touch themselves in VR. This kind of hardware works for games, for music and for your films and series. A jacket like this will even bring you much more immersion than investing in an ultra expensive 7.1 hifi set. You can totally do without 7.1 with this. Just tell yourself that you will need some running-in time. You may consider it a gadget and a waste of money until you get used to it and only then will you realize the happiness that this kind of product gives you.

My precious gf used a haptic suit that was independent of the avatar, Quest-compatible, and extended from the neck all the way down to the feet, so why even bother with this one shown in the video for its price?

​@@TahvoStudio Hii, here’s what I know: My friends were there and saw it firsthand. She was using a Quest 2 a $70 haptic suit on standalone, it worked flawlessly. Her avatar was just a regular public avatar that she always used, no modifications or very special setups needed > afaik. She could feel when someone touched her, when she interacted with objects, or when passing through them. Sometimes my friends tested it on her too. But for instance, I touched her back through a wall, she couldn’t see it of course, but she definitely felt it, because she ran away and were laughing. So, if something like that works so easily and reliably, it makes me wonder why anyone would spend so much more money on something that’s also harder to set up.

I own all of bhaptics original accessories aside from the face part and to not make my opinion of them too long for a comment it’s not worth it, The only games I’ve really felt immersed in using them is zero caliber 1 and half life 2 vr mod and maybe boneworks Every other game either has badly implemented support such as bonelab or just doesn’t fit with the game with the way the haptics work If you wana buy this for vrchat don’t it’s not fun and only triggers from avatar to avatar interactions and makes laying down a pain if you’re that kind of vrchat user Finally their vest quality has gotten less comfortable with each iteration, I can’t speak on the tactsuit pro as I don’t own one but I am lucky enough to own an x40 and their older dev kit version 3 and to put it bluntly the dk3 is infinitely better, easier to adjust, lighter, more comfortable for longer play sessions at least in my experience. Which has resulted in my x40 being the vest I give to a friend if we play a vr game together In conclusion I think this is going to be one of those advancements in technology that was done too early which results in no one taking it seriously when the technology is there in the future
