To anyone using virtual Desktop with the quest, if its broken for you to fix it it as easy as this 1. Be in VRchat with headset on 2. Press Left menu button 3. Select "VR" tab at Bottom 4. Click on "Controller Bindings" 5. Click "EDIT THIS BINDING" (5.5). If it doesn't Auto select VRChat select that 6. Click on current binding "Edit" button 7. Select "Skeletons" near the middle 8. Put Left & Right hand on "Unused" 9. Press close at bottom then Press "Save Personal Binding" Tada magic its working again.... something they shouldn't have ever changed.... (Extra steps) If it still doesn't work after changing and saving it back out of steam fully and re enter VRC

For those who had trouble with your controllers like I did, go into SteamVR bindings and under the Skeletal bindings, change them to Off/Unused and you'll be good to go. You may have to restart SteamVR for it to work.

FIX. THE. HANDS. The new settings have broken the hands on ALL my avatars as now ALL the fingers lean to the outside/pinky-side of the hand ... it looks like every one of my avatar has had their hands broken and re-set in an unnatural position. I switched to legacy fingers and I cant even make a complete fist anymore or do a thumbs up, which were ALL things that worked before.

Yep same issues here. Legacy still feels off even if the fingers moved as before, the hand position as well as pointer position/angle are totally off.

The audacity of VRChat's developers to push out this "Input 2.0" on every VR headset as if we're all using Index controllers. My Reverb G2 binds no longer worked one night, and I spent that whole night troubleshooting my controllers until I thought it was my SteamVR or my Mixed Reality Portal that broke but nope; it was an unwarranted and unwanted update for anyone using an out-of-date VR headset. Please implement an option to revert to Input 1.0 or just revert it for headsets that can't take advantage of this.

Its still a problem even if you have index controllers, everything about hands feels wrong from pose, to the direction of the pointer. Granted I didn't have binding issues really, but still, this update is fucked

PSA: for steam vr hand tracking you either need a leap motion or virtual desktop, if you don't have either, can't use hand tracking

@@duziy Many of these fixes and improvements were made years ago by modders before they implemented easy anti-cheat and f-d over a fairly large number of users that were using performance mods. Many of those improvements still have yet to be implemented by the VRChat's dev team, and most of the behind the scenes performance changes have been based on or inspired by the old modders' efforts.

Update made oculus touch broken, fixed with unbinding skeletal. Issues: Have to remap bindings, Made action menu movement some what broken, has to be one handed movement, or else you cannot move without it. Thus including, cannot press mic button or do stuffs while on action wheels. Cannot make fist gesture without setting it properly. To fix it just go unbind Skeletal in SteamVR bindings for VRChat enable Legacy fingers and disable some fingertracking settings in control settings panel Simplifying this... You guys successfully broke stuffs that doesn't need... that much of improvements? At least performances are indeed... some what better

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm using a VIVE controller. Since this update, my movement has slowed down significantly. Thanks to this, I can't enjoy any game contents in VR at all. And the Vr controller's pad is used to express my emotions, and I don't know what fucking you guys touched, but it turned into a finger, an emotional expression, and an unnatural one.

Man, My hands are just slightly cursed with this update. Also it very much broke my ability to move and I had to go in and manually setup all my bindings. Very bumpy update. If I wasn't a tecnical person this would have gone from irritation to despair and rage.

A disabled friend had his custom bindings (which were setup for him by a friend) wiped by this update. He cannot rebind them himself, because his fingers won't move properly. He's since uninstalled, due to being so frustrated meaning I can't talk to him in game anymore. How difficult is it for you to think about how these changes impact the disabled community before you launch?

Index controller grip stamina solution. You can change the grip to need extra squeeze, but you can make the letting go at a really light pressure. Meaning, you squeeze to grab, and now you can lightly hold it without worrying of dropping it, and only when you fully open your hand do you drop it. I use to for the ship's stick control in No Man's Sky.

I use a quest 3 with Virtual desktop for pcvr, the game decided I have handtracking and it's broken as hell. I don't want the game to use whatever data it pulled out of its ass to mimic my hands, and I can't turn it off. Everything else in this update is great, but good sin is the stupid hand tracking a steaming pile of trash for anyone who doesn't want it

For disable its simple, you need to click on steam menu bottom, go to control comands then try to edit your bindings there will be a new option called skeleton (if i remember well) then click on it and disable the two skeleton, i hope it helped c:

You guys screwed us over big time with the update. I use a quest 2 with a pc link and my controller bindings no longer exist for quest 2. My framerate is horrible, it forces me to use finger tracking and ny launchpad is no longer attached to my hands and instead just floats in front of me. How do I fix all this?

This update really screwed everything up but I was able to get new bindings to mostly work for Quest 2 + Virtual Desktop PCVR thanks to the community. When you push an update that literally breaks the game, you ought to have clear documentation or instruction for how to fix it on different setups AT A MINIMUM. There should definitely be a warning on the "force finger tracking only" mode toggle and it CERTAINLY should not turn that option on when you click "Use Recommended Settings". It made it so I couldn't click anything in the UI and took me forever to figure out that I needed to use the borderline unusable quest 2 finger tracking to disable the option.

Small tidbit about the updated portal animation shown at 3:04: I love everything about it but it'd be a nice extra touch to add some lingering particle effect following the portal disappearing animation. There are particles right before the portal appears and they linger while it's open and counting down. When the portal disappears tho, the particles despawn before the portal finishes its disappearing animation. It's a little underwhelming seeing them leave on a flat note.

You have to go in and map the feature back in. They did a bad job resetting the bindings on update. I lost all joystick movent and had to go in and assign that shit manually.

I resetted mine by going to steamvr bindings. Scroll all the way to button. "add new binding thingy" and save it. The vrchat instructions are no help if steamvr thinks your already on the standard.

woah! an update! how cool! and it even sounds good on paper! so many improvements omg!!! but then i actually tried this update and.. - half of my friends are having issues with controller bindings - performance and FPS are still the same level.. same level of BAD either you have "old" or "new" hardware.. and oh yeah VRC system requirements on Steam are from like 2010 lol - menu and UI in general is still bloated and UNINTUITIVE as hell and they don't care about NEW USERS or old users who is coming back for example: my SSD died couple days ago and i had to reinstall everything (including VRC ofc) and this UI is so freaking frustrating!!! i feel like im in the jet fighter and spaceship COMBINED THIS IS SO BAD!! - CHATBOX visibility is still set to "friends" by default and new users (when they will discover the chatbox button) will never know why is everyone in public worlds ignore them - DOESN'T WORK ON OLDER VERSIONS OF STEAMVR!!! and makes new version lag when i open the overlay also crashes sometimes (how nice of you VRChat) and other games don't do that just VRChat.. truly a SPECIAL game (or chat whatever) - crashers still do be crashin - quest kids can also crash you now btw (amazing also quest doesn't have EAC) - most of the world instances just won't show in the game for no reason whatsoever it's still broken (on the website you can see more instances but you can't join some of them even if they're "public") - you still can't join the instance you've been to (after you've crashed for example) partially because of the previous problem - IMPORTANT ONE: STILL NO OPTION TO SET AVATAR CACHE SIZE OR DISABLE THIS USELESS PIECE OF GARBAGE COMPLETELY!!! also nice "parallax effect" you've discovered and soverynice that you are showing it to us.. ..in a YT video that doesn't show the effect itself on a flat screen considering all that and literally A DECADE OF EARLY ACCESS (more like early ass) this game should either be removed and forgotten or change it's developer team COMPLETELY and for those who will tell that all of this is just "you problem" and "skill issue" - if you don't see a problem doesn't mean it's not there and don't forget: it's not the VRChat devs who gave you the content but PLAYERS and COMMUNITY in general current VRC dev team should literally be banned from making games i'll just ask you to not buy VRC+ don't feed them devs they don't deserve it

Hands are now broken and weird using index controllers. All my avi's hands are posed weird with this update, and switching to legacy mode doesn't work right either. Hand position as well as pointer position/angle is different and weird... why.......... WHY FIX THINGS THAT AREN'T BROKEN!!!

I turned off the 'skeletal hand tracking' and I get so immensely overstimulated when I go to the menu and see 2 hands and one of them is trying to pretend to be right. I legitimately want to not play vrchat, some people don't want hand tracking. That's why there's the *option* to buy it and turn it on and off. This was a stupid add on. For the love of all things holy. Please. Fix the ghost hands and the botched legacy fingers

@AnonymousUser-ww6ns You don't NEED a 40 series GPU and it doesn't mean anything if you have a garbage CPU or a 40 series laptop that overheats itself all the time For this game to play well, you need a hyper specific AMD CPU or the world's best intel CPU (and something expensive to cool that mofo) and you need the fastest 32+ gb RAM, the fastest NVME drive with DRAM cache, and the most VRAM on your GPU that you can get your hands on It doesn't HAVE to be 40 series, a lot of people play this game well with a 1080 Ti 10gb GPU and a killer CPU I agree with you about Virtual Desktop though And using the Oculus/Meta link if you can't have great wifi

Yeah nothing works this is a garbage update you literally can't do anything. And the fact that when you point at stuff it's not pointing in the right direction when you try to click on things the pointer moves dramatically even if you have the controller absolutely still like laying it on a table and pulling the trigger the cursor moves. This totally breaks a lot of gesture base actions like the entirety of the game is based around really bad

i have the hp reverb g2 and the hands all i want is add a setting to use peace signs again. right now i only have the option to map it to only do peace signs and not combine it to make devil horns or any other option i like the concept but can you make the basic or standard controls to what they used to be and just give the people who want to customize the option. at least in my case it made my controllers wont allow me to put it back to normal gestures even with the legacy hand mode you mentioned

Everything is all good in my opinion, the only real, more personal issue I have is with the radial menu requiring to have one-handed movement in order to actually move now, which also locks your facial gestures(unless it's turned off) to their default looks. I can see how it's "kind of" useful, but it was a bit better without the whole "one-hand movement" setting as a requirement to actually move. Other than that, the rest of the update feels really nice.

Hello I'm having a major problem with this new update I use a quest 2 on PCVR and the main problem is the fact that the hand tracking is always overlaying the controllers this leaves the menu to not actually go in my hand and instead it just floats in the air it's super uncomfortable to use my controller isn't even accurate to where I'm actually pointing it's more like the middle finger and also the hands in the menu is just all my God please tell me how to turn it off.

I got you do this ... To anyone using virtual Desktop with the quest, if its broken for you to fix it it as easy as this 1. Be in VRchat with headset on 2. Press Left menu button 3. Select "VR" tab at Bottom 4. Click on "Controller Bindings" 5. Click "EDIT THIS BINDING" (5.5). If it doesn't Auto select VRChat select that 6. Click on current binding "Edit" button 7. Select "Skeletons" near the middle 8. Put Left & Right hand on "Unused" 9. Press close at bottom then Press "Save Personal Binding" Tada magic its working again.... something they shouldn't have ever changed.... (Extra steps) If it still doesn't work after changing and saving it back out of steam fully and re enter VRC

You need to fix the controller problem, now every time I put on a controller when I try to pull the trigger to press on anything the laser move and the laser behave very wried when moving the controller, we need a button to completely turn off hand tracking and move to the old controller tracking!
