Well, if you want to be a creator, to make a character, a anime or even a game. Even without PC, I recommend you watch and study as much as possible. When the day you are able to get one, you will make 3D models much faster. From personal experience, I was on a University studding Game Development, and met people with and without PCs. Most of the people with a good PC, didn't study at all, they gave up on trying. While the people without PC used to watch more videos and learn stuff, even not being able to put this on practice.

I've found the procedural group is good for quickly filling in the back of the head as you can set one at 90, adjust it to his you want it then copy it and put the copy at 180. Put together a model this morning using only procedural hair and it worked out pretty well. Super long with a big puffy skirt for it to lay on top of. Probably going to change it as I make adjustments to the skirt, but for the moment it's very interesting. Long way of saying the procedural do have uses, specially for those of us not very artistically inclined.

I’m really interested in the types of 3D characters that Vroid can create but I have questions on how to make better use of these characters. There are 3 things that I still wish to learn about Vroid, and I’m hoping to find a video that covers all 3. 1) I want to learn how to pose the character’s face in order to create different facial expressions (still images, not animation). 2) I’d like to learn how to pose the hair for dynamic poses. For example, if a character is moving, running, jumping, or it’s a windy day, their hair will reflect that. I want to create a still pose though (not an animation) because I’d like to be able to draw what I create. 3) I also wish to learn how to pose the clothing in dynamic ways. If the character is moving, doing some kind of action pose, or it’s windy weather, their clothing will move as well. Think of how clothing such as a scarf, cape, coat, or a dress will be affected under these different situations. Just like with the hair, I’d like to create a still pose of clothing in dynamic positions, in order to represent movement. This would be really helpful for people who want to draw their characters or want to pose them for comics 😊

Phia, thank you so so so so much for this tutorial, and even going as far to go into your previous commissions. It's greatly appreciated.💖 Hair is perhaps the biggest struggle with VRoid, I'm stll such an amateur. 💦 One of my system mates wants a model made for himself for when we start doing streams regularly. I'm working on one for myself (I'm tweaking it bit by bit as I learn more!) and I'm starting to sketch out ideas for it, so I get a better idea of what I want to make. ^^ I'm also going to be making a model for my partner for when they start their gaming streams.💕

Sweet tutorial, definitely will help me up my hair game :) small question though, (unless stuff like that would be another tutorial) how do you keep the wings and tails and stuff in place? Because whenever I create those (even with the mesh partially inside the model), they always hover a bit away from the model once I go into animations.
@TheVirtualRealityShow4 жыл бұрын
You can detach the wings/tails in Unity! (I'll be posting a video on that later down the line) But sadly there is no way to detach the hair directly in VRoid, sadly :(

Could you do a tutorial regarding the "Dynamic Bones" program in Unity? Where you demonstrate how to add the bones in the hair you had in VRoid to Unity? In the hierarchy, the "Hairs" component combine all strands of hair in "Hair1"... so could you make something that makes all of the strands of hairs be dynamic?

Hello Phia, i have a bit of on issue and you're one of the only people i know that can help. whenever i convert my VRoid avatar for VRchat it loses all the bones i placed in VRoid. like you said in one of your other tutorials there would be two avatars, the VRC avatar doesn't have any hair bones. But the VRM avatar does. Is there something i'm doing wrong? or is there any way too fix this? This is honestly starting too get frustrating.
