This 3D method of teaching and going around the screen is really unique. might be nice for people doing tutorials. only draw back is the camera angles and that the VR model might block the screen. But really nice to see.

Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I pre-ordered my Quest 2 the day sales went live and it's my first VR system I've personally owned. I have been trying to get my custom VRoid model that I made of myself to import properly to Unity for AGES and kept having an issue with the textures not coming over properly. I'd originally been following another video that allowed you to attach eye tracking to the model in Blender, so maybe that was the issue. This video finally helped me to successfully import my model to Unity and I'm so excited to be able to use it once I get my hands on my Quest 2. Your instructions were super thorough and I couldn't be happier to see myself fully modeled.

Right now, you need to install the VRM converter, don't import it (also the name changed a bit). Restart Unity if the VRM-tab on the top bar doesn't show up. It is also called VRM0, but works pretty much the same.

Thank you for this. I discovered that I actually had the wrong version of Unity. I assumed I had the correct version and I fooled around with this for hours only to come back to your tutorial and saw clearly that if I would have checked my version, I would have seen that it was incorrect. lol. You were such a pleasure to listen to and are so very sweet. Thank you! My avatar is now imported and working. Reiji 1.0 has been created but I have a lot of work to do before the next version. :-). Thanks again! Update: Sadly, I appear to be able to preview my avatar in VRChat, but I cannot upload to VR Chat to finally play it. I don't even have the upload link. It's just not there to click on. Update: Fixed. I just needed to reinstall Unity and it looks like I also needed to either change resolutions to see the button or have this running on my bigger monitor to see the upload button. Weird.

I watched this video a while back and I've already made at least 16 different outfits for my avatar and uploaded it to VR chat (PC and Quest) using this method. Your tutorial is the best by far. 6:20 click "For Quest"! just reopen the Unity project, delete the converted moddle and reconvert it then follow the steps as normal. Afterwards, you can open the VRChat SDK but this time click Manage Content and delete the old model!

I found the correct X, Y, and Z! X is 0, Y is 1.5 and Z is 0.08! Just mess around with the Y coordinates and you should be good to go as long as your characters at 0, 0!

it isnt working for me... ive downloaded everything followed the tutorial to a T. but when i go into unity and put in the sdk. i dont get the vrchat pop up and there is nothing in the top toolbar... i figured eh no biggy and kept going. got to the duplicate and convert when it said oh SDK isnt imported even though its in the assets. and it also came with vrchatexamples or something which yours did not. i have all the updated versions except for unity which is 2018.4.20f1,. please help

You’re gonna have to import the dynamic bones package into unity and then once you import the avatar, it will contain the bones, however you will have to change some settings since hair dynamics can get a bit crazy.

Thank you! I did. I found the issue was from downloading the unity version through Unity Hub. I reinstalled unity using the correct versions download directly from the unity website instead of the hub and it worked perfectly. I think the Unity Hubs version must be slightly different to the one direct from the website (maybe a more condensed & refined version of that release)

First time I did this it worked out well, but second time I had exactly this problem, took a while until I realized that I used a different UniVRM version, I used "UniVRM-0.59.0_873a.unitypackage" instead of "VRM Converter for VRChat-22.2.0 + UniVRM-0.58.1.unitypackage" and that made it so I could not see a Duplicate to VRchat option in the menu.

Hi, I recently followed this video to make an avatar, but I have been having issues and I was wondering if someone could help. My character will tend to bend their knees inwards as if they needed to use the bathroom, the only time this stops is when I use the female animations in UNITY. I was wondering if anyone else is getting these issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey! So i wanted a custom avatar in vrchat. I made one in VRoid and wanted to get it into Unity. I downloaded everythong. VRM, SDK 2 and tried Unity 2018.4.20 and Unity 2019.4.29. The thing is 2018 isnt compatible wiht vrchat anymore and VRM isnt compatible with 2019. So theres always something missing. What do i do?

guys If you have the issue where the shoulders or any part of the body are clipping through the outfit, I found it was fixable by going to the bodys texture in vroid and erasing the texture for the part of the body that is clipping through

Whenever I import the VRM it says "all assets from this package are already in the project" but I don't have the VRM tab at the top or the VRM in the package menu. Also, my version of the converter is 24.1.0

I've heard from a Japanese VRoid user, Tsurugi, that the fix for clipping is to make the mesh of that spot transparent or invisible beneath so when it clips out, it doesn't show.

Everything uploads and downloads fine. but In Vrchat itself. the legs of the avatar crosses for some reason. as if the bones is messed up in the legs. why does that happen? since I upload the vrm just as descripted? thank you!
