you have me interested in updating to x90 on my stampede 1 of them is 2wd and brushed. if I updated the esc to a brushed x90 esc and used a x90 2s lipo,do you think the 550 brushed motor would improve? top speed and throttle response? or just throttle response? thoughts?

In my personal opinion I didn't think much of it but I found out Dean's plugs has a current max rate of 35C and if your like me I run 80C to 100C and I didn't notice much difference between batteries but once I made the switch to XT90 I noticed a huge difference more power more throttle response and even from half throttle to full throttle huge difference I flipped my the pirates 3 doing that I never had that much power still between half and full throttle after that just about all my RC cars and batteries are now using XT90

@@brothersRC01 thats definitely interesting information about the deans 35c max current. I bet traxxas comnections are about the same as their batteries are 30c I think. Im gonna definitely check out the xt90 connection and play around with it. Thank you for sharing…. Did you ever test around with esc’s and figure out if you need a specific minimum Amp rating to let the higher current pass to the motor?

@@arcaderacer586 i have melted quite a few dean plug cables melted shorted out ESC I found with the current restrictions with deans the cables get red hot along with the battery and ESC but since changing over and having 135C max current with XT90 everything runs cooler having no restriction and this is all just my personal opinion but the first thing i do with a new RC car that has Dean's I cut them off

What size pinion did you use? I am ordering a roller version of this soon. Do you know what pitch the spur gear is?

I used a 14 tooth pinion I'm not sure about pitch on spur gear I will look in manual for you
