Sylvester Stalin Oh yeah, I totally agree. This all hypothetical. It begs the question of what that number would be. Google is essentially a tech monopoly and KZbin is their prized pony. I don’t doubt for a second they’d offer billions to protect their asset from being surpassed a competitor.
@CanIHasThisName4 жыл бұрын
@@cameronmorse6689 They're a tech giant, not a monopoly. That's a big difference. The cost of running and the total income have evened out just a few years back. Nobody is really sure if youtube is actually profitable yet. They're letting anyone upload gigabytes of content for free and only get paid for users viewing ads. That's why nobody has yet been able to compete with youtube. Vast majority of their income comes from ads. Ad companies have a say in what kind of content can and cannot monetized, and are able to straight up censor certain content. Companies having such an easy time making copyright claims on anything is a big part of this. Even Pornhub acknowledges that if they were to compete with KZbin in non-adult content viewing (and inherently without porn ads), they'd have a very hard time staying profitable. Surprisingly, the biggest competition to KZbin might be sites like Patereon. Content creators with merely 1000 patreon followers will easily make considerably more money than channels with 100 000 subscribers and no sponsors, while actually spending less time producing videos than those youtube channels (since they're not depending on views).

@@Sunny-uh5bc I guess the main point of saying it's not a drug is in the fact, that you don't have people murdering each other for a joint. You get this behaviour in meth and heroin addicts and meth and heroin are typically those drugs you imagine when someone talks about drugs. You don't use needles or snort marihuana. Stoners don't typically go to rehab. Truth be told, when it comes to drugs, the humanity is a junkie. From white sugar and red meat to nicotine and alcohol, all we, as a species, practically do is drugs. So technically anything you do periodically because of it's effects is a drug, even friggin serotonin. So of course ganja is a drug. But not as addictive and as destructive as the term would have you believe. Say you have a brother who does meth and you smoke weed. Would you categorize yourself with him as an equal drug user, or would you rationally understand that while both of you are doing drugs, you are not the junkie?

@@saradanhoff6539 not always, psylocybin can and absolutely does cause anxiety, increase in depression, and a lot of other things, even at relatively low doses, especially with pre-existing mental health issues, all of which can be long lasting after the effects of the chemical. please dont tell people that, its extremely reckless and there are people out there who will read your comment and take it as absolute truth. each individual person should be cautious and do as much research as possible themselves when performing any sort of psycho-nautical exploration, and we all have a responsibility to give information as truthfully and accurately as possible. please, please stop spreading that information. you could convince some one to really damage themselves in a serious way. for any one reading this who is considering experimenting with psychedelics safely and responsibly: know your family's medical history, including mental health and get a good therapist to do an evaluation on you. psychedelics can increase symptoms of schizoid illnesses, even if you don't have symptoms in your everyday life, psychedelics can bring out dormant issues. do as much research as you possibly can, make sure you are getting your product from a reliable, safe source. i would highly recommend dosing first with some one who is experienced and that you also trust. INCLUDING MUSHROOMS. All psychoactive chemicals have the potential for going in a rough, even scary direction, even at small doses, even if you are mentally sound, yes even thc. start with low doses to get used to what it feels like. if you feel like you're not ready or have a bad feeling, just dont do it. Erowid.org is a great resource to start. Now, I do believe that psychedelics have a lot of great benefits, but they should absolutely be respected and each person is responsible for their safety, likewise people who have experience or some knowledge are also responsible for shutting down misinformation that is potentially hazardous. Ego death also depends on your brain. If you're already a less self conscious individual, and spend much time thinking about things outside of yourself, it will be very difficult to experience ego death. Ego death is more the shock of learning that you are more than just a self, more than just a needy body, and are actually a part of a much larger, very complicated entity inside your mind, one that is capable of being extremely philanthropic and humanistic. The idea that some people become extremely religious or that many religions were developed with psychedelics is baffling; I think it's because people meet their inner mind and think they've met God. Some people actually get to this place and start running around screaming "I am God!". In America you'd be called crazy, but in India, you'd be told "I'm glad you finally figured that out." it's not that you are a supernatural being, it's that deep inside, you are the entity that you sense and that gives you philosophical enlightenment that drives your humanistic thoughts forward. You are very capable, and don't realize it. Since most people are extremely selfish early in life, it takes a great deal of stripping away for that part of the mind to expose itself.

Matthew Thompson I see it like realizing you are a part of God, just like in the Bible how it talks about the trinity of God being three separate entities yet all in one. It's like that. Like we are part of God, which makes us God and ourselves. Almost like taking drops of water from a bucket. This drops can leave the pure water source and become corrupt and dirty. It must be purified to become like the water from the bucket. It must be distilled through evaporation and condensation, almost like a rebirth. It gets to join with other water for a moment only to become a drop again, a different one.

I recall taking Ayahuasca as one of the most wonderful experiences on my 30 years being alive. It was on this small town in the middle of the Brazilian Amazon Forest, took a 3 day boat ride to get there. It was just me and my girlfriend at the time, so it was much more personal I feel. If there was a symbol that embodies the trip for me, it's a heart shaped symbol as I only felt pure love, gratitude, joy and other wonderful feelings for everyone and everything on my life. You think of almost everyone who has influenced you, and it's amazing how the brain relates everything. The ceremony lasted around 9 hours, where almost the entire time we were meditating on a hammock. Left alone with our thoughts, some soothing music set up by our shaman and only got up to go to the bathroom. Visually, I saw many shapes, especially from any light source when it was almost dark (such as a flashlight, or any light pole). I literally could see the light waves emit from the light source, it's kinda hard to explain, but very similar to the guy that makes the album art for Tool (I'm aware these are DMT/Ayahuasca inspired). It is something I'd recommend to anyone who is experiencing some kind of life issue, those being job-related, family, love, any thing that involves how we feel. It is NOT for everyone though as the experience is very strong, and sadly not all people can handle a psychedelic experience such as this one - or even LSD, or magic mushrooms. But in the end you really feel like any issue you may have inside, unties. I do not recommend if if you are simply looking to "trip balls", instead you must have a purpose. A question to be answered by yourself (concerning any issue on your life at the time). It is really amazing how this substance can help you understand everything around you and the effect it may have afterwards on your life.

No, it actually wasn't the dosage, in my opinion. That is average dosage that most people experience ego dissolvement with. Michael came into it with three things that immediately set him back: fear of what would happen, a lack of knowledge for what exactly would take place, and thus a lack of comfort with it, and a scientist who took him out of the trip either by being in the room or by testing him halfway through his second trip. What really fucked him up was his lack of comfort and knowledge, and his fear. As soon as he seemingly felt ego dissolvement, he felt fear and he was unsure of what was happening and his subconscious had been swayed to be cautious and apprehensive towards it. He thus resisted it, and never got the full effect.

Not wanting to feel forced is a huge deal with psychedelics, especially dmt or ayahuasca. The dmt you smoke can hit almost instantly if you do enough to break through, and if you don't dose it yourself or know the dosage you can be thrown into a very very intense trip. Speaking from personal experience. You can't control the dmt or the trip, however you can control your environment up until you take the hit. Surround yourself with your favorite art, a trip sitter, and calming music or none at all.

@@eriofmyire In the case of psychedelics, because they are THAT powerful of an experience. It's hard to believe that such vivid experiences and spiritual/transcendent journeys are caused by an innert substance. In many cases you actually FEEL an entity or deity of abstract nature during the trip. It's not easy to explain but it makes perfect sense to think about these substances as something more than just substances. Think about how a plane ticket is just a piece of paper that grants you access to a floating hunk of metal, and yet your self-discovery or a radical change in life might be right ahead of you, thanks to that lifeless piece of paper. Even very scientific minded individuals tend to think in terms of "the substance offered me this or that, or wanted this and that for me", while knowing fully during the process that the scientific reality is just a neurotransmitter soup in their heads. As a final argument, there is the theory that many religious sightings have had their origins on unsuspecting use of psychedelics. The fungus that infects rye is where LSD is refined from. If a devote christian person in long past times ate rye bread in a bad state, and thus ingested a significant amount of alkaloids, the ensuing experience could hardly be interpreted as anything else that something divine or supernatural. Furthermore, any person with previous psychedelic experience can probably attest that the actual appearance attributed to angels in the Bible is something one could see on DMT or very heavy doses of LSD. (I am not saying religion is a product of intoxication, I believe its more something inherent in conscious intelligent life)

Pieter Dirksen Here in Texas, and basically in the southern US in general, it's pretty hard to get psychedelics. It doesn't rain often, and when it does we don't get too many psychoactive mushrooms. And I'm too worried I'll ID it wrong lol. And acid is hard to get on the street, but I'll never buy from a street dealer ever again. The dark net is amazing.
@eternalvoid26786 жыл бұрын
GhostyGhost7007 It's very good to be cautious with picking mushrooms. I only know a few edible, non psychoactive ones and would never eat something I'm not 100% sure about it's safe. The nice thing here is that there are only 1 or 2 deadly species, which are easy to identify. I'd never buy off the street either. Not sure about the legislation over there, but here (parts of) DMT/MAOI containing plants can be bought legally. LSA, Salvorine and Mescaline containing things as well. And if you look around, there's more ;). Extraction is typically illegal, but not always necessary. I realize that I'm lucky in the sense that I can buy practically everything I'm interested in legally, or at least the plant material/mycelium necessary to get it. Disclaimer: I'm not suggesting you, or anyone should try any of these substances, just that it might not be necessary to buy things from drug dealers/illegally. Here is my 2 cents on this topic, I think some of you might relate. I was never into psychedelics, I was to a lesser extent afraid of them. It wasn't until I was in my mid 20s that I found out about DMT, at first stumbling across the Spirit Molecule movie like I am sure most of you have seen. I watched that movie and thought cool sounds like bullshit, these people are just losing grip on reality. Well, it wasn't but a few weeks later that a friend of mine who I hadn't seen in years popped back into the scene, and ironically he had began experimenting with it and brought me some as a gift, without me having asked for it or even having known he was into it. We literally never spoke about it until he handed me the baggy. I think had that not unfolded like that i wouldn't have tried it, I had never used psychedelics before and I was always afraid of losing my mind and going insane. My friend assured me that it was safe, that it only lasted a few minutes and that it would change my life. I said thanks and told him I would give it a try here soon, but when I put it in my pocket I was actually telling myself I was never going to use it. A few days passed and after speaking with my friend a few more times and another layer of peer pressure and reading on what to expect from the substance I figured I would give it a shot. I'll start off small I told myself. I took out the smallest crystal, it was maybe the size of a grain of salt, surprisingly I got a little puff of smoke out of it. Interestingly enough I found when you smoke tiny bits like that you don't get any psychedelic experiences but you do get a somewhat noticeable body high. It is very short lived, less than a minute or two, and it's not worth wasting it like that. So anyways, I did that for a day and thought okay well I didn't die, I'll try a single medium hit and see what happens. I took a mediocre hit from my pipe, held it in for about 5 seconds and the moment I felt something I exhaled. It came on so quickly and so strong that it scared me, I actually thought that I was dying. I even remember grasping chest, clenching my jaw and curling up on the couch in fetal formation. I thought, you idiot, you went and threw your life away, your actually dying, this is the end of my life. After a few seconds of utter and absolute terror, and just as I thought I was going to keel over and die I felt the effects beginning to subdue and I immediately felt a huge relief come over me. I wasn't dying, I was actually okay, wow that was scary. Why did I think I was dying? I wasn't in pain, I wasn't actually hurt in any way, sill to this day I don't fully know why I thought I was dying, but that experience made me a lot stronger. A few moments after coming back to reality and getting my wits about me I thought, well let's try again. However, this time I made the conscious effort to not be afraid, I knew what to expect, I wanted to see if I could overcome that irrational fear I had just felt. I took another medium hit but this time I held it in. I waited to exhale until the visuals started. By the time I exhaled I was so gone I couldn't even tell if exhaled or not lol. I felt tat similar rush of fear building up as things began to get increasingly more and more crazy. colors and lights were zipping around, iridescent geometrical patterns were forming and deforming within the textures of the carpet, walls and ceilings. In the corner of my eyes I could see shadows and shapes moving about and bending. What is going on, where am I? How am I seeing these things... Is this real? About this time I felt the effects wearing off. That nervous tension like rising up on a roller coaster had dissipated and I felt myself back in a stable place. That trip was much more impressive than the last, but I was still just barely getting my toes wet. I figured I would go for two hits this time. We're about 30 minutes past the time of thinking I was literally dying and at this point I am starting to think I'm a pro and know what to expect out of this drug. I think okay I'm going to take two hits this time, it can't be that much different than my last experience. So I take one hit, hold it in a few seconds, starting to feel a little something, exhale and take another larger hit. Hold it, hold it, hold... Wait, did I make a mistake with two hits? Ya that was a mistake, oh fuck oh fuck I almost just died from this stuff and now Im smoking larger amounts of it! I blew out the smoke but nothing came out... Oh fuck i'm dying this time, oh fuck... I closed my eyes, or were they already closed? Regardless this is where it all changed for me, the moment that I learned something that has really had a profound impact on my life. And while this may sound simple and obvious at first, I don't think most people really comprehend it. That feeling of fear, or whatever negative emotions we all have, it's a choice that we control. You can choose to be happy or you can choose to be sad, but either way it's your choice. You can't let other people and external things control how you feel, you are 100% capeable of being happy even while you are burning alive. Now don't get me wrong, that's an extreme case and I don't think I would be happy if that happened to me, but I understand that it's within my power to control the way I feel at all times. The truly hard part is remembering that during those hard times, and being able to call upon that strength at will.

I took psychedelics once and it changed my life. I did a lot of research though and went in during the right mindset and environment. Which is something A LOT of people overlook. They don't understand how important those factors are. I ended up way more appreciative and open minded to my surroundings and peers.
@Devilofdoom6 жыл бұрын
Aaron 102 Depends on the drug. I've had nothing but good experiences with LSD. You feel very drawn into the moment, far away from from your day to day life. You notice things is far greater detail than usual. If you look at a still image such as a painting or an album cover, you will instantly spot a sort of deeper meaning to it (even if there isn't really intended to be one). I've also taken 2CE which is a different beast entirely. On this drug I ended up completely out of my mind. I remember walking down the road and feeling like I was constantly passing the same lamp-post, stuck in a loop. The billboard 100 meters down the road looked as if it was right in front of me. When I closed my eyes I saw detailed images of eyeballs and snakes. Problem with this drug I found was that some of the effects took months to fully ware off, which was concerning. For that reason I recommend steering clear of this particular drug. And lastly I've taken Salvia Divinorum. This was by far the most powerful hallucinogen I've taken. This one I can't even begin to describe properly, but I'll try anyway. The moment it hit me I was convinced that the world didn't exist. Hell, I couldn't even remember what the world was. The room I was in became twisted. As it started to come down someone tried to convince me that the world was real, and for a little while I was convinced that only the side of the room that they where on was real. It was totally unreal, though it lasts only about a minute.

The last time i took LSD i felt a strong urge of not smoking cigarettes. I was a smoker for 10 years. In that time i had a very serious physical dependence, the first think i did when waking up from sleep was to light a cig. The lsd made me feel like i ve touched a cigarette in my whole life, for about 2 days. I was extremly surprised that i hadn t the mental and physical craving (a slight pain in my muscles) for god damn nicotine. Obviously after that, i resumed smoking, but much more rare. Then i did some treatment with nicorette, and now i m clean for about 4 5 months. I know i won t touch a cigarette ever again. And i also know that without that LSD experience i wouldn t be able to kickstart my process of quitting. I fucking love drugs

@tls58706 жыл бұрын
IKR same here, I only have a few times where I was able to get 5 or more people together for the experience, those were the best. You just want everyone to be on your level. Apparently one time on the way to a concert I was asking people on the bus why they weren't tripping too.

I had the same situation once, but I wasn't sure about one guy, if he was tripping too. I asked him and his replay was ambiguously, and that made me unsure & unable to enjoy the rest of the trip to full extend. The lesson learned for me was: It's fine if someone isn't tripping, BUT it's kinda important to know who is and who isn't.

I think it's a narrow view of tripping and psychedelics. Ethan himself said he's never had a "good" trip or broken through so he already doesn't understand the mindset and experience of someone who would want to go back. It's not about needing to go back so much as wanting to experience more of those planes of existence and gain more understanding of that hidden universe. It's probably a poor analogy but wanting to travel to another country frequently doesn't mean you can't handle your homeland. It's just an experience, visuals and exploration you can't have where you normally are. It seems pretty simple.
@daringducky62365 жыл бұрын

Thank you guys for talking about this and for your candor, I just wanted to add perspective from someone who is experienced and has a deep reverence for the process. The statement "if you're so eager to return to that state of mind, you're probably having some trouble dealing with the actual physical world" is slightly problematic and I mean this with respect. These substances have helped me so much in becoming more resilient. It is perfectly okay if you don't find value in that space of course, but it holds incredible value to many of us. Having to struggle through the anxiety and really examine what is going on in our minds that we can normally ignore (or drink away as many do) can be an opportunity to gain strength. It's like working out but for your psychology. We wouldn't tell someone who returns to the gym that they are having trouble dealing with being unhealthy or physically weak, unless of course they go overboard which can happen with anything.
