***** it might be problem for real time chatting and online games, but if you tell computer what to download in advance, then youtube, facebook and other sites would not really be that bad.
@RKBock8 жыл бұрын
TheAllegiantTraitor except if your receiver wouldn't be perfect. but there's also the problem of the connection speed (as in mb/s). i'm guessing that, as normal internet isn't really transfered into space and ths everything would have to go through nasa or something similar, the data transfer would be severly limited in terms of speed and amount of requests at a time. so it would be more like a chat: "we would like to watch a recent movie, would you send us a list" "[movie list]" "we would like to watch x" receive the movie this wouldn't be internet, this would be "watch on demand" really browsing would be impossible, or at least too nervewrecking with this.
@RKBock8 жыл бұрын
TheAllegiantTraitor well, i think that the speed would be the greatest problem. But there might also be a great problem due to the background noise. (due to radiation etc of the same wavelenghts, you might get a lot of data wrong, which wouldn't be a problem in something simple like text, but might look like a very bad signal looked on old TVs, that is, if you saw something like that) also: i rewatched the video. he said that the delay they worked with in the simulation would be 20min. in the video "why mars?" from vsauce 3, he says that there is a delay of 4 to 24min, depending on the relative location of the two planets, in each direction. ergo, in the worst case, it would take 24min to send a text or a click, and 24 to receive an answer.... it would probably be better and easier to take a damn lot of data on harddrives with them. (i'm sure they have some that can survive the journey)

Why wouldn't we want to experiment and test our extraterrestrial habitats on the moon first?

This is what I want to know. I assume it would be easier to conquer the moon first, but everyone seems keen to skip steps.

@chedisLoL8 жыл бұрын
Osirin no. they dont want to simulate a complete test. they want to simulate isolation between 6 people in a desert. with terrain much like Mars.
@speedy012478 жыл бұрын
Solitude is when you are by yourself, isolation is when you are cut off from the rest of society, that does not mean all of society, just a large chunk of it.
