@@miriamrosemary9110 you know one contradiction that i noticed, when i read the books, is when hermione says in i believe book 4 goblet of fire, that around hogwarts electronic items dont work, something about the "magic in the air, interferes with the signals", but in book 2 the chamber of secrets, colin creevy, brings a camera into the school, and regularly takes pictures of the students and in the end the basilsk with it throughout the campus. it was just one of the many inconsistencies in the harry potter canonical universe i noticed.

@@livethefuture2492 It would be interesting to explore a story where someone brings in all kinds of muggle artifacts into Hogwarts. And regarding veritaserum, that's a very good point! My guess would be that it's a huge violation of privacy, easily abused, and so is probably illegal to use, except in special circumstances. It's also hard to make, I think. It's probably expensive for the ministry to purchase a lot of.

I went to an arts and science high school that had a class called the science of Harry Potter. You spent the entire semester basically living this episode. Making potions, and mechanical things that work similar to magic in the movies.

This video reminds me of the same thing I kept thinking while watching Harry Potter as a kid. With the rare exception of the weird creatures like the Basilisk, dementors, or dragons most people in the series would be better off grabbing a pistol than a wand when fighting. Wands offer much better utility and variety but when a simple painting or drywall can block most spells they simply aren't the best weapons.

As the guy who made the fire wand, it only shot that far because I SPECIFICALLY told William to SWISH and FLICK and you can clearly see no swishing or flicking of any kind! ADDITIONALLY you have to pronounce the incantation a specific way, emphasizing the Aaaahhh sound

May I suggest the muggle "Wand of Automatic Missiles" with the addition of grenades of horrifyingly damaging shrapnel? Otherwise known as an M-16 and a frag grenade. In fact almost any gun could kill all those guys before they could get the actual spell out and once the steel slug rocketed through their chest or head, they'd probably lose interest.
