Thing is you can fully use the power that's available and have fun with it instead of expending your mental and physical energy keeping it reigned in like you would with a full on sports bike, that's what I appreciate about mine. That and the fact that you can throw a ton of luggage on and go pretty much wherever you want in comfort, at speed & even do a bit of off road. So for a mere mortal such as myself who can only have one bike, there exists nothing better. Mine's a lovely 2012 orange one!

Powerwise it's not that great when you're riding in the alps(50km away from me). Uphill you run out of steam rather quick and above 1500m things only getting worse. And above 7k rpm my VStrom was a bit too thirsty with the oil...So for my kind of riding, the VStrom wasn't really the right bike.

I was comparing it to the 2007 Triumph Tiger. I'd have done that whole thing in 2nd gear. Which isn't as much fun. I'd like to see someone do this road on a super motard. You can have fun riding any motorcycle by simply pushing it to its limits.

Bought an 07 650 with just 2,000km on it many years ago. 165,000km and counting now. Still goes great. I have never had an issue except for dirty fuel which wasn't the bike's fault. I just pulled the starter motor out the other day because of sluggish starting. After discovering the brushes getting worn down, I cleaned things up and reassembled it. Works like new, but I have ordered new brushes. Changed the front sprocket from 15 to 16 tooth with great results for open road cruising, without losing bottom end acceleration. I live on a dirt road between a national park and a national highway, and use 50/50 tyres. Lately they are shinko brand, but also like Metzler tourance. What can I say? Simply this. It's an awesome bike, with amazing reliability and snappy performance. Handing and comfort is all I need and more. Range and fuel economy is outstanding. I paid half new price for a barely used bike, and have enjoyed trouble free riding ever since. Happy trails

I bought a 2008 in 2024 38000 km on clock the bike looks brand new absolute joy to ride it seems to be able to pull just about in every gear so if you don't downshift for some reason ,it will still pull in every gear regardless cost me 4,800 Australian dollar I love this thing. Hadn't really heard much about these bikes for some reason until I jumped off my GSXR 1000 due to uncomfortable riding position and getting older start to look for a cruiser with a more upright position this thing's fantastic

Lanesplitting should't be too much of a problem, as the handlebar isn't that wide. The VStrom 650 is a bit top heavy tough....22l Liters of Fuel on a kinda "small" engine :D. Nice video and good sound . If I didn't already have a 650 Vstrom, your video would have made me want one. @@arneeide9219 I wouldn't say that the sound itself is actually better...a bit louder(double the displacement...) and overall just a bit different than the VStrom V2. Because the KTM V2 has a 75° crankshaft and not a "regular" 90° like the Suzuki V2s

@Arne Eide it's just the engine sound itself...a bit more agressive on the KTM, but the KTM V2 is also a short stroke engine from the RC8, so it revs very high for 1200cc(up to ~9600; max. Power is 100rpm below redline:D)

Where did you get your tank bag at?

It's from "Bagster", but it was on the bike when I bought it. Theoretically you could strap on a tank bag from bagster at that tank cover. www.bagsterworld.de/pi.php/en/Tank-covers/SUZUKI/dl-6503.html

Hey there friend, nice video. I own a 2007 Wee myself and I was wondering if you were familiar with the problem regarding the two bolts that hold the front fairing to the mainframe loosening up or even coming completely loose (and lost), which would result in a rattling front fairing on speedbumps and sorts. I've heard that replacing those two bolts would fix the the problem, but I've gotten that advise from some fairly old motoforums. Would you happen to know wether replacing those bolts is an effective way of solving the aformentioned problem? Thanks :)
@StromerYoutube4 жыл бұрын
I would suggest some locktide medium to secure the bolts. On mine, I never had that problem, but enough other little things so that I finally sold the bike.
