Neat styling ideas for this car. It's definitely going to look quite special when the build is completed.

There was a book written in the 70's. Tuning your British Sports Car. In it, they took a Mini hood and cut in two more headlights. Imagine two rounded roof tops over two round headlight. (We moved our Mini....that is progress.....not really but it is fun. Mini = Fun)

have you thought about a full tilt front end? fenders with hood to give you easy access. maybe a fiberglass removable front end?

I know this is way after this video was first posted but with the grill mods you did would have using zeus fasteners instead of the bolts worked better. The quarter turn ones

DZUS fasteners are fantastic, but the bolts are very quick to remove

Cockney Kanjozoku Cafe Racer.... 60’s London meets 80’s Osaka - both epic times and places in automotive sub culture. Ultimately celebrating both the original chassis and the donor engine. Two worlds colliding, and the resulting car has to exemplify both heritages 🤪

tbh, I don't really like the removable grill idea since i requires more cutting, but um... i guess sometimes something needs to be sacrificed to gain something else. Except that, perfect. Looking of it is not my style, especially the bumper thing, i prefer the classic look, but i'm not the one who owns it. Everybody has different opinion.

What about dimple die vents like Aaron Kaufmans falcon? I have a mini with a Nissan cg13 engine. I replaced my front panel with a new one. Instead of spot welding it I put tabs on to allow it to be bolted in place.

Loving the build! Love ya removable front grill idea for access...cool 😊 Also love the intended Japanese street racing theme and body graphics, Imo tho I would have the 'sun rays' at a more extended angle stretching across the door as per the pictures you had of jdm civics 😁

Have to put brackets under panel for bonnet/hood clearance Having them on top would leave a uneven gap between panel and bonnet

Post Script. We say all types of colorful phrases when car manufacturers squeeze engines into hard to reach places. Stuff like "those $@#&%$@ heads, What were they thinking?" But, When you do it, ...that's different. That looks good. Smart even. "like it should of been from the start".

VTEC is is really MAD so much powerful but still a great engine but with the mini we can still think little and prefer to set a FORD engine ecoboost 1000cc for 100 or 125 HPH !!! VTEC is too big so much people have already done it , it is not original.....

Love the removable grill/slam panel idea. :-) FYI Vents in a panels work well for getting hot air out. I've got old chrome speaker grills on outside, and a dirt deflector inside to stop wheel spray coming straight out grill. Its Never overheated again, running highly tuned 1310cc on standard radiator;

nice. we also did removable top part front panel on our b20vtec mini with minitec mtb2 subframe. It made life easier lol. As for the louvre we also had louvre on the bonnet in similar position with the addition on the left and right wing. But in the end we convert it back to a series engine and start all over again with clubman, it has alot more room instagram.com/p/BLiEU1ujCc2/
