7:30 Yes, this is exactly what I want a Mini for. You nailed it, dude. I want something I can run around town in and work on slowly on my own to improve over time without breaking the bank. Doesn't need to be perfect, I don't wanna do a full restoration. I just wanna have some fun and get a second vehicle while I'm at it.

Every time I almost talk myself out of pulling the trigger on a classic mini I watch one of your videos and it sucks me back in :). Thanks! Now I need to figure out a good seat / wheel / shifter combo for a bigger dude I have had a hell of a time fitting into the various minis around my area when I've gone looking.

@fmixthings5 жыл бұрын
To my knowledge the only Mini to get a factory rear wiper was the ERA turbo. They only ran for a couple years and had many noticable differences from a normal Mini. I bet that random wire to the trunk was for the washer fluid bottle. That is where my 1993 Mini has its bottle, right side of the trunk. I do love these cars. They have such an appeal that anyone from any age enjoys them.

Hey, I just got a 95 mini cooper over here in Japan. I want to stance the car like this one. High in the back, lower in the front. I think it looks so good and gives the mini and edge. I have 10 inch wheels on right now, looking to go bigger and get larger flares. What suspension did you run on this one and what are the heights I should go for to achieve this look?

Have you guys ever done a center binnacle conversion from the newer, square gauges over the steering column? If so, do you know if the connections for the fuel gauge, water temp sensor, and oil pressure sender mate straight up to the old center binnacle gauges, or do they require the old gauges be swapped out? Great video- wish they'd been around back when I got my first Mini. :)

This is the kind of build I want. Also, while I'm not quite ready to buy, I'm thinking ahead and I see on a lot of selling websites that independent mechanical evaluations can be arranged. Given that I'm not a mechanical engineer or an expert in these cars, I assume this is a good idea? What are your thoughts? Do you have a trusted company that you could recommend, or does it vary by region?
@Stevestonmotorco5 жыл бұрын
To get worthwhile service, we recommend a shop that is familiar with classic cars or even minis, if you are so lucky. There are many components that are quite different from those found on modern vehicles so some shops don't know what they're looking at. It depends on who is local to you.

@Stevestonmotorco4 жыл бұрын
It's fine, depending on the car and your tolerance to noise and bumps. Some of our friends have literally toured the world in their minis. We find that it helps to have a taller final drive and a little bit of sound deadening (or at least standard carpets).
