VTech 2-Handset Cordless Phone System Model CS6719-2

I picked this VTech 2-Handset cordless phone system up at Aldi. It was a decent price, I kind of needed a 2-handset phone, so I bought it. While it's no Panasonic, it has actually been serving quite well. My only real gripes are the speakerphone doesn't go as loud as I would like, and the keypad works strangely. If I misdial a number, I usually hang up and it cancels everything out. On this phone, it works as a backspace. I find it's better to cancel everything out and start again, rather than try to pick up where I screwed up, since I usually have the number in mind. That's more of a personal thing, so it's neither a positive or a negative, it just is.

This specific model was actually discontinued a few years back and replaced with a few newer ones. The Lig Bots around here still sells them NOS, along with their replacement counterparts. I actually have one of the replacements in service here on the VoIP server, but not this exact model.

Eh, whatever. It works. It's acceptable, not fantastic. A newer model probably wouldn't offer much more than this does.

I had the same set. Only lasted a few years. Keypad crapped out. Once the answer pad went. It was replaced.

Simply read the manual, it will tell you!

Did you just plug it in to the power chord? And it was able to make calls?

You need a telephone line to make a telephone work. This hasn't changed in 147 years.

@@Glastrie Eventually, it connects to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), so yes.

Ahhhhhh yes, we have similar phones like that, unfortunately we no longer have our home phone in service.

@@jaykay18 I mean, we got rid of cable TV as well so all we have is Cable internet! I'm guessing my mom got rid of it because the bill was too high. I should've done reviews of the cordless and corded phones before we got rid of the service but oh well.

@@ItzYaBoyJesse Makes sense. They sell telephone boxes that run off the cable that have no monthly fee, totally free, you just buy the box one time.

@@jaykay18 I think we still had to pay every month for Caller ID and Long Distance Calling I don't remember if they were free or not anymore!

@@ItzYaBoyJesse I got VoIP phone service over 15 years ago, and those calling features were included. For my cable company to give ANYTHING away for free, that's saying something.

Question you might now how to fix it I can't fine anywhere how to. when someone call you if you go to missed call and click on the home flash it will call that number back, but the call won't go through because the aria code is missing, how do you fix that?

I don't know offhand, and in fact I never bothered to set that up on mine either. What I do know is that the manual is freely available online and that should tell you how to set it
