Hey, I'm actually the mod project leader for Unofficial Gay Fates! I just wanna say it's cool you covered it and a lot of other fantastic mods for the 3dsFE community, you're right in saying most people don't even know it exist. The community is small, but most of the mod creators talk to each other, so a lot of us were super thrilled to see a video talking about our work, it's really appreciated!

@@michaelcharlton1519 There is, but the main hacking server with most of it's members and information is private, and you can only get in via contacting a mod first. Though the Gay Fates and Thabes discord servers are public, and links are on their respective mod's GB page. So you can probably get some information for what you wanted from them.

This is a great video to bring light to the community! A major mod not talked about here is the Lilith mod which adds Lilith as a fully playable unit! She has custom dialogue, join chapters, supports with other characters, and weapons! She's compatible with the unofficial gay fates add-on too so suggest you check her out!

The mod that removes the negative skills in Fire Emblem Fates sounds like a lot of fun, Fates it's kinda fun while being vanilla but considering you never get to use the Steel or Silver weapons, it's a massive step backwards compared to the other FE games, well done and nice video btw!

UGF mod are legit good. At first I was like "haha, finally some yuri action lmao!" But overtime I started to notice the effort they put in this mod, it's not only for certain demographic people but it also actually expand some character that had limited support in the base game. And boy, they did a phenomenal job. Actually able to see how Ryoma & Scarlet, Jacob & Flora finally get going (as they should be) are wholesome. Hell, Gunter & Reina has good support that delves deeper into their backstories even, that just crazy and unthinkable the first time I saw the mod and decided to give it a shot. And the mod didn't only add romantic support but also platonic as well, and they equally good and certainly needed for some character. Sure, it may not fixed some bad support that already in the base game. But it certainly gives a new life for the added support conversation, I'm genuinely recommended this mod for everyone wanting new experience with Fates. Also get the Nerf Weapons Removal while at it, don't ask questions, just do it. Thank me later.

Due to Fates having armor damage, it would be cool if someone moded that aspect a bit, to make armor have less hp and easier to break and added 1 more stage of damage of "underwear" so that playing Fire Emblem Fates could be like playing Senran Kagura.

Both Fates and the first Warriors game actually already have this feature if you use certain weapons.

Fates has a whole bunch of various overhaul mods that add new stuff. Two of my personal favorites are Fates+ and Capture only. Fates+ is very similar to Thebes in terms of its goal and what it changes. It adds new paralouges, 1 new child unit, several new playable units, various playable bosses and other cool stuff like the Japanese only halloween maps and cosmetics. Capture only on the other hand can only be downloaded off of Serenes forest, and was actually the first 3ds mod I ever played. The mod removes any and all playable characters besides Corrin and gives them both a level 2 prison and the capture skill at the start of the game. This forces you to build your team of generic units as you go, and results in some rather unorthodox strategies if you want to beat the higher difficulties (Inspiration Sorcerer and Hikitaka MVP). It forces you to appreciate a somewhat underused fates mechanic in a fun way, hence why I enjoyed it so much.

Man, this reminded me of all the fates content being made back in 2016-2017 like extra support and what kana would be like if she grew up. The texture and upscale mods are insane because I've been watching old videos on the 3ds games in their native resolution and wow... they look really bad. I'm glad to see so many details that were added with these mods. Fates especially looked good with the new soldier's textures in the branch of fate map.

I’d recommend checking out garonquest! It’s a very fun new path for FE conquest where you play as Garon, iago, and hans The dialogue is hilarious and the gameplay is pretty fun

Unfortunately, I don't believe they exist yet. Your best bet is to play at a lower resolution or just deal with it until someone can figure out how to fix it.

If you turn the resolution down, the Citra emulator shouldn't have a tough time running on lower-end computers. It may take some time to set up, but stick with it and you'll be able to enjoy some great mods!

Some people have reported that they were able to get it working on real hardware, but I'd look into it if I were you. It probably wouldn't mess up your 3DS, instead it just wouldn't work.

From what I understand: 1. Drag the files for the icon mod into your mods folder 2. Drag other mods, overwrite any files if it asks 3. Drag the compatibility patches into your mods folder and overwrite files

On an actual physical 3DS, there's the Luma program that allows you to load in mods. For PC, there's the Citra emulator. If you want to emulate, you'll have to dump your legal copy of the game or find one online, I unfortunately can't help with either option due to legal issues.

You need emulators to play the games on platforms like Android or PC. For this video, I used the Citra emulator. Roms can be dumped via a legal copy. You can always Google how to dump a rom or find a copy online, though doing the second is typically illegal and I can't help you there.

How do the gay fates children work.. like in the base game they're tied to the father and the mother chooses the hair colour.. so what if two women get married? How do you get a child from that? And if two men marry do you get both their tied child units? I can't find info on this anywhere, currently doing a playthrough with this mod on but haven't got to s rank yet

hey! you might've figured it out by now, but yes, you get both children if you marry two parents together. the child inherits the other parent's hair! for example, i did azama/kaden, and selkie got azama's brown hair, whereas miitama gets kaden's orange hair. two women together have no affect except for probably azura. i haven't tested it yet, but i assume her son will get her partner's hair.

I hadn't actually figured it out, i was having really short battery life issues with my 3ds and then moved out so not sure where my 3ds atm and then engage came out 😁 so I'll get back to it eventually, thanks for this info

Do these mods work with the Japanese versions of the 3DS FE games?

If I understand it correctly, mods have to be developed for each region (US, Europe, etc.), but I'm not entirely sure if this applies in this case. Since mods are loaded on top of the game and dosen't permanently change the game files, it doesn't hurt to try.

All of the mods covered in the video are linked in the description. You can't play with all of them at once, so it's up to you to decide which you would like to play with. You can either use Luma, which can load mods on an actual 3DS, or you can use the Citra Emulator to play the games on your computer. These options both have their own instructions for using them, so I recommend looking up how to download and use them. Each mod also has their own method of installing, and will have detailed instructions on their respective pages. Hope this helps!

It's a completely optional mod that you don't have to download at all. And considering the precedent has already been set with Fates, Three Houses, Three Hopes, and Engage, if you don't like this "gay shit" then I would recommend another game series.
