Very much looking forward to seeing how it flies in GPS mode. With the long flight time I presume that you can easily send it out past what your controller can connect with it at, but with a good GPS mode that would be a lot less worrisome.

Not sure if this is an incomplete video. Shows that the video is over 1 hour long, but there is only 22 min. of video. Also, the only resolution option is 360P, which usually means that KZbin hasn't finished processing the uploaded video. I'll wait a day & come back to this to see if it resolves itself.

Hey Bill, I used the edit tool on KZbin's side to cut off the error on end which apparently made it get stuck in processing 🤦‍♂️. I scheduled it to go live today but it wasn't done apparently. Hopefully it finished sometime soon. Really wanted this video up today. Guess I shouldn't have rushed it 🍻

@@DustinDunnill Ahh ... that explains it. I don't use any of KZbin's "tools" ... I do my own editing. I guess you have to use their tools to insert 'cards' and such, but, since I don't do that, I can get away with just using my Wondershare Filmora editor (which I've been using for about 5 years). I'll check in again later, as the video is still in 360P. When you post in 4K, the KZbin "processsing" can take forever ... sometimes more than 12 hours ! I'll check back later. Cheers!

I just received one of these from HEQ and it does not meet the time nor the distance specs. It only flies in airplane mode for approximately 18 minutes before it goes into emergency battery voltage mode and forces a landing into trees or whatever happens to be under it and you cannot take control of it once it goes into this mode. It does this with both new batteries even though they fully charge to 17.1V. And this is with only using a very small amount of the battery to quickly climb vertically in copter mode and then switching to airplane mode for the rest of the flight. It is also in very calm and ideal conditions so it should fly for the full 60 minutes which they advertise. The other problem is that the DJI FPV system that mine came with does not work further than about 200 meters or 600 feet before it begins pixelating and then around 700 feet completely goes blank even in clear, line-of-sight conditions. I'm way out in the country away from all 5.8GHz interference so there's something wrong with the DJI Air Unit or the DJI Goggles. This combo cost $2,060 (incl shipping) so I'm terribly disappointed in it. I'm currently waiting to hear back from HEQ to see what they'll do to remedy the problems.

Great video as usual from this channel! When I saw the title I was VERY excited. It's hard to improve upon the Disco though its camera could be a bit better. I love the Disco's stabilized FPV cam but the 1080p recording is a bit lacking compared to modern DJI drones. Apart from that, the Disco seems to be unbeatable and having seen this video I think the HEQ K1 unfortunately also doesn't pull it off. No stabilized FPV camera, it looks like you can't put in a bigger li-ion battery, no FPV goggles, doubtful build quality (that wing looks very loose and the pitot tube just falls off? Most important of all: no 4G mod! Looks like the only thing this HEQ K1 has over the Parrot Disco is VTOL and the ability to carry your own 4K camera. It's nice to have conversion to fixed wing but if the battery is so small that you still won't get to half the Disco's range then I guess I still prefer the Disco. Maybe I'm mistaken though but the way I see it judging this video: Parrot Disco: + Stabilized FPV camera + 4G mod! That's a big plus + Can carry a BIG 10A+ Li-Ion battery + Very good build quality + Very trustworthy built in safety features (RTH, etc.) + Very stable flight characteristics and very easy to pilot (gets sluggish with bigger batteries though) + Can follow waypoints for autonomous flights - Not easy to equip your own camera. Big minus! - No VTOL but easy to launch and doesn't require much landing space ~ Decent but not great recording quality for 2021 standards. We need a Disco MKII HEQ K1 + VTOL / conversion to fixed wing! + You can add your own camera! + Built in safety / RTH (but has yet to prove its worth) + Controller has a built in screen. - Looks like build quality is not so great but it can be fixed yourself - Good battery size but can't be replaced by a bigger one? - non stabilized FPV cam - no FPV goggle support? - no 4G mod I hope you prove me wrong because I would really love to see a Parrot Disco killer.

Just received one of these and found it will not accommodate the GoPro Hero 9 camera, so i ended up getting the DJI action camera as it is not worth using the GoPro Hero models 5 through 8 it claims to support. I would be curious know know what records well using that model camera.

@@DustinDunnill ...I have 2 discos, funny thing is I bought one new on ebay and it fell out of the sky, just went blank and fell. Contacted Parrot and they said they would honor warranty, to get in touch with vendor for him to replace and Parrot would take care if the vendor...vendor finally said ok, and said he would send new one, but he sent me a body, no wings (first one was the Adventurer set with case) and to just send back the body. When I received it, it was obviously not new and when I booted it up, it had been flown 27 times, no accidents, even saw all the previous owners videos. Well, I was pretty pissed off after $800. I contacted PayPal and ebay...turns out, I was refunded my 800 and kept both discos...I can't believe how this guy lost all of it by trying to screw me...anyway, I want to do the 4g mod that you did to one of them. So, is that 4g mod pretty good in your opinion?? I did your battery mod with exact same battery too. :)

Dang. Glad it worked out for you in the end at least. 4G mod is pretty awesome but does depend on the signal and speed of connection on both ends. May as well try it if you have 2 Discos. Just follow the uavpal tutorial to the T and patiently 👍

The video is incomplete, the image quality looks quite distorted, and I think that the recording of the other drone to follow the other drone causes dizziness in the video .... A video of maximum distance, video quality and back to automatic home (rth) there if it would be a more complete video. Thanks for your videos.
