As always folks I do an open and honest thumbnail and description with any review I do, I’ll never ask you for money to “buy me a coffee” or “Patreon” etc on here, these reviews cost you nothing and I get some reward for the channel. If you don’t like reviews please don’t watch, if you leave negative comments I’ll just remove them. It’s fine to share a bad experience with a product so we can help others avoid buying things if they are bad but don’t slate me personally for selling a bit of advertising. My first question to anyone who offers me an item is “do I have free reign to say as I see”? If it’s a no I don’t take it. Thanks Rick

in Canada this unit goes on sale on amazon for about 800 CAD. I picked up the extra battery today for 550 CAD from thier website. Thanks for the real life use review. :) We had a major storm here on the west coast and it came in handy with a power outage.

Thank you for this video, very useful. I guess that when you plug in to be the vehicle's 'hookup' it will also be re-charging 12v battery(s), and for optimum usage you should have plugged the microwave etc directly into it so that's all it's being used for?
@RickandHeatherАй бұрын
I turn off the onboard charger as it uses 400w of power, it makes no difference plugging in to the “van” or directly as in effect the van becomes an extension lead.

Interesting Rick. A couple of hundred cheaper than an Ecoflow Delta which we have. A few less features than the Ecoflow too. But a full in depth review mate - fascinating to see how much it depletes from various appliances. Safe travels 👍👍

Yep, you pays your money I guess. It’s a basic bit of kit obviously built to a budget but if you know what you’re buying it does the job, I’m trying to do as in-depth as I can, anyone can read the blurb on the website and repeat it to camera but real use is way better I think 😊

That's what I call a proper review, although I don't think nearly enough tea was drank. Good to know you can charge the unit at the same time as using it - we recently plugged our Allpower into our van to run the fridge (just to see if we could in case the gas ran out) but we couldn't charge it with the solar at the same time.

Hi, i was looking for a solar panel test in the DC charge port, what open Voltage had your panel? And you can use anderson (400w) and Dc(200w) to get 600w max solar input? At same time. I would really appreciate It ❤
@RickandHeather4 ай бұрын
I did do a bit on the bullet input (200w) as it was the only way to charge using one panel at the voltage I had singularly (around 35v open I think) when I went in via Anderson I had to link the two to make the 60v plus required to work but obviously using mismatch panels I lost wattage 400w in max I think but I linked a 200 & 100 so probably only got about 250? They never sent me any of their 60v panels to test so I had to improvise, no idea if you can dual input unfortunately as I couldn’t test without more panels.

Thank you for the review Rick, enjoyed it. As you have now tested several of these power banks, would you be interested to add the efficiency of each unit whilst charging & discharging? Its a very important point as by the time a battery is charged & then discharged, especially with the inverter a huge amout of energy can be lost/turned into heat. As with electric cars, there can be a large variance. Thank you.
@RickandHeather6 ай бұрын
I’m not sure how I’d do that really 🤔 I’m not going to purchase testers and stuff to do what is basically a walk through, I already do more than the supplier “asks for” I thought my “angle” of showing use in a van with percentages used would be helpful. There are many techie channels that test these in that way.
@markjhoyle6 ай бұрын
Hi. Why wouldn't you just connect in an inverter and maybe add an extra leisure battery. If you already have a solar panel? Just looking for ideas? Thanks Rick.
@RickandHeather6 ай бұрын
If you want to you can but this is versatile, if not camping you can use at home or in the garage and have power cut back up?
@VandromedasTravels6 ай бұрын
Only real issue I'd have would be the socket orientation. If you have trip-enabled plugs on (like you get with the Ninja Woodfire Grill thingy), the cable gets compressed on the surface the unit sits on. Aside from that, seems very canny for the price.
@RickandHeather6 ай бұрын
Yep, the only option sometimes is a short trailing lead to adapt certain plugs, we have to do that occasionally on the Afiery we use. As you say for the price it does the job.

When you plugged the VTOMAN into your motorhome, does it charge your habitation battery too?
@RickandHeather5 ай бұрын
I turned off the habitation charger for the test but it would if you wanted to, the victron charger in our van draws around 400w if it’s turned on.

I've had a VTOMAN Flashspeed 1500 for 8 months, now runs down to 70%, then immediately drops to zero, so it really only has about 400 w capacity, is this expected? Can't seem to contact company, am I really stuck with this expensive brick?

I’ve no clue sorry, I used mine for the review but rarely use it now, it’s really just a back up. I’ve had a few people say they’ve had problems, unfortunately I have nothing to do with the company and my reviews are based on the product when I use it and it was adequate at the time.

@@RickandHeather It's not your guys fault at all 😊 It's just I found this power station through KZbin and bought it worked for 2 weeks and was brilliant. Went to charge it before VanLife Festival and it wouldn't charge via AC. It was 1 line emails back per day from Vtoman took a good few weeks to get a replacement, not the lightest thing to be messing with. As soon as I plugged in the replacement it wouldn't charge. So back down the post office to return after waiting for a return label and finally got a refund. I got the return images from DPD and there was tons of these being returned. And the Vtoman groups full of people with same or similar issues. It is a shame as I also have the Vtoman 600x which is brilliant no problems at all.

I sadly had a similar experience and mine stopped working just short of a week of usage. It first started to flash a code "03" and wouldn't power the fridge, a few minutes later a popping sound and smelled like something got burned. Contact CS and they sent me a return label for an exchange. I haven't received the other unit yet, I probably won't be able to return it since I took it out of the US so tough luck for me. No complains on their CS, just regret to not have bought a more reliable brand.
