A friend of mine is a vtuber and ever since I played with her on stream I've been obsessing with the idea of starting to stream myself. You can use the iPhone for all of it (head and expressions) but I find using a webcam is more reliable for overall head tracking

I know it's an old video, I really appreciate all the info. I have one question. What's the range on the iPhone IR detection? So for example, can I put the iPhone above my screen? So I can play a game? I rarely see VTubers play games, and I just imagine they have some mount just in front of their face, or right in the front of them so they can track their face. Nope! Only iPhone X and above due to the hardware. This may change in future but right now it's iPhone exclusive for this process

Nope! It's a 3D model. Live2D is a drawn/flat image, hence the 2D part. It's when someone draws an illustration and the parts are overlayed to give the illusion of depth. This is a 3D model, so it's a full 3D model. Hope that clears it up!

I use Waidayo but yeah. You need an arkit blendshape compatible model and the program which links thru to your iPhone via the network ^^

I'm NATURALLY animated and it still didnt work XD For some reason waidayo does NOT work for me at all; it literally only tracks head movement and eyes blinking but NOT any eyebrows and not my mouth at all! I use an iphone 12 and vseeface, either way, I'm so glad i found your video though! Thanks for taking the time at making this video!

eyebrows aren't generally very well tracked on models atm in general -- ifacialmocap is another option that may work better for you!
