Being one of the most popular tropes of all time, the Gremlin and the War Criminal are a very profitable, and very common trope that many VTubers embody, and in this video. We unravel that.

Actually, Jesters did run a risk of being "Graduated" if the news they brought displeased the king or got him in a foul mode, it was more the role of lovable fool that didn't know better that acted as a shield (so it is actually a very apt analogy)

The royalty's level of tolerance for a jester is much higher than the average citizen at least (otherwise they wouldn't have the job in the first place). An average peasant would be "graduated" much faster for a joke than the jester. Though there's still definitely a limit that depends on the jester's employer.

I read somewhere that Jesters often were mentally handicapped in some way. Not sure if this is true but may also contribute to why they could get away with some things, the king could be like: "The court jester doth be an idiot and a fool thus the weight of his words beith none."

That's the duality of Pekora. It's fun to see her succeed and be unapologetically smug and toxic about it while laughing like a gremlin, and then that smug attitude makes it equally fun when she fails in dramatic ways because she had it coming for being such a sore winner all the other times.

Much of the Subsets of the Tropes you cover are generally created from Synergistic Combinations of Tropes: In this case, the Hobgoblin is the Gremlin Trope usually comboed with the Tomboy or Menhua Trope; and the War Criminal is Gremlin comboed with Schizo or Hag; other combinations can create similar Subsets, though not all are suitable for the VTubing Scene; still, with extremely skillful Performance, potentially any Trope Combo could be given justice... For Instance, Hololive's Akai Haato originally fell under the Seiso Idol Trope, before an event Isolated her somewhere she couldn't effectively do her Job from. She took this as an opportunity to Reimagine her Character, and implemented the Schizo Trope to unleash a Second Persona of the Gremlin-Schizo War Criminal Trope named HAACHAMA - she used the Dual Persona Gimmick to combine many more Tropes than the average VTuber could handle, and pulled it all off Flawlessly, leading to both Personas to each have their own Dedicated Fanbases and eventually requiring her to Merge the Two for Balance! This is evidence that with enough Skill, a VTuber could pull off almost any Set of Tropes in a way Fans can appreciate...

Pekora is in the Looney Tunes tier of comedy, where schemes tend to blow up in their faces while they gloat when they win and apologize when they lose. She didn't create that trope, but very well is a great example of it.

There is a concerning lack of Laplus in this video in my honest opinion. She couldn't be a more perfect choice for the gremlin who's both a massive troll and gets trolled in response by the fans, but also has proven to be really funny, endearing and easy to empathize with. Here is my main problem with Gremlins, on the example of Selen, because she is one of my favorites, it really hurts the enjoyment when they play or do something serious, but they are not able to take something serious. Like when playing a story game that has heavy themes, they might just laugh over it, which some people might find nice because it makes the topic lighter to digest, but I think, because being a gremlin is that easy, there are too few that actually take stuff seriously. So, while I enjoy some goofy game with a gremlin streamer, when it comes to serious stuff I find it destructive to the enjoyment when a gremlin can't take stuff seriously.

You don't actually think peasants had no access to art, do you? I mean, passing stories on by mouth was the first way by which we were entertained. Richer peasants (yes, they existed) also owned very decorative pieces of furniture. Folk story tellers memorized entire ballads while in antiquity, literacy was often defined by being able to recite works of arts while reading was only a way to store it (reading by yourself was a later invention). Maybe don't take historic information presented by entertainment companies at face value. Also, a king had no way to figure out what peasants said about him. The centralized structure required to execute defamation laws would only be reached later on (absolutism). Medieval administration was very localized and concentrated on other things (getting taxes).
