Are you getting paid for this? You mentioned "they sent me this bike", so it's safe to assume that at least you got $1700 for this video. I enjoy your videos; you go on great rides and the commentary is appropriate. As a bigger rider myself, I like seeing you tackle the trails I do, and not a 140lb teenager 😁. As to this bike, if you are to believe a bike is a sum of its parts, plus the cost of selling and doing business, bikes are expensive for a reason. The same applies for when bikes are cheap. There's a price to pay, and it's either monetary or in possible injuries. All the components on this bike are low quality, yes even the shimano drive train. The same goes for the chinese electronics, motor and battery. I can't imagine the frame is super reliable and if you're honest, and ride this bike often, you'll break it easily. The rattling noise was deafening, but hey, at least you don't need a trail bell 🤪 The biggest problem with this bike is trail erosion; at 70lbs and carrying a large rider, this thing destroys local mtb trails and it angers the local builders. I once saw a guy going the wrong way up Martha's Grove on a hub fat bike like this one and I, an ebike rider as well, couldn't help but to shake my head wondering if this fella' got lost. TLDR: bike has no place on MTB trails, and reviewer should clarify if he's being paid for it comprises the objectivity of the review.

First, thanks for your comment. I genuinely appreciate your honesty and feedback. I am not getting paid, but they did send me the bike for free. I agree that it's not a high quality mountain bike, and I tried to give it an honest review for what it is. I also agree that it does not belong on most designated mtb trails. As I said in the video, if you are in it for mountain biking, you want to look at something with a mid drive motor that's made for tackling trails. I must say though, you bring up a very valid point about trail erosion. I had not considered that when making the video. I may not have done the best job getting the point across, but I think this bike is for people who mostly want to use it to commute, ride on bike paths, and ride the occasional fire road. I plan to use it to explore some areas where the extra range and ability to tackle massive grades will be a huge benefit, but it is unlikely to make it onto any singletrack from here on out.

I got this bike almost 2 years now. I wonder if they put insulation or something inside the Controller box. I can't hear the rattling of your controller, or maybe the volume is just low :)

I just pulled it out the other day to hook up some new cables, and there wasn't any insulation in there. It rattles sometimes, but it's not bad. It's a pretty snug fit.

@@MTBTrailReview a little heads up though, I use this bike as a daily commuter. 7km flat + 7km uphill. I used to drive on high PAS during uphill and it caused malfunction to the controller after a few months. It must have overheated. Installed a new controller and limit my uphill climb to PAS 2. So far so good. Happy trails 😀

@@ortegaortega1076 it's been 2 years and 2 months of daily commute. That translates to 16,656 km and 494 charge cycles. Bike still good, but around 450 charge cycles, the battery significantly cannot get its full capacity.
