It's the number of books on the shelf. The top shelf has 8, the middle shelf has 3, and the bottom shelf has 6.

@@mavcopisellonio Honestly I just guessed. There was no other obvious answer so I started counting different things around the room until I got it right.

@@mavcopisellonio I agree it is random. A lot of the other puzzles r random too I think. Especially version 8 of this game. It's the worst! Almost every single level of version 8 I had to either use hints or watch the walkthroughs.
