You know, I'm still pretty new in the fabrication business but watching you older crowd makes me feel like things aren't as hard as us younger crowd put it out to be, keep in keeping on man

It's all experience. That's all. In a few years, a new guy will be looking at you for advice. The main thing is to join quality Facebook groups. The ones with helpful people who actually want to help others. And, watch plenty of KZbin videos (like mine! 😄). And practice, and try new stuff. You can ask me anything, anytime.

Nice Mod Jason !!! I’m gonna use this on both my predator 9000 and my Vulcan! Excited to see your next video!! Thanks for posting again. You’ve got a lot of really helpful information not just for myself, but others t just getting started.

Thanks. I really appreciate that. I haven't forgotten about your "wish list" of video topics. I've just been getting hammered lately.

@@AllStarWeldingSC I can completely understand I’m a father of seven and have my own maintenance business/mobile welding did 20 years behind the desk, managing large teams for the corporate world, but you and a few others have been inspiration to get out and start my own thing. And honestly, it’s been a lot less headache.

What about putting a small spring on it? I've got a Honda ew171 welder and a Honda eb 6500 generator with a spring applied, vacuum release automatic choke and it works fantastic! I never have to manually operate the choke.

That's an interesting concept. I'm going to look into that!

I just watched your video about your Hondas. I didn't know they made those.

@@AllStarWeldingSC there's definitely not too many of them out there. Mine is the only one I've seen in person but it's a fantastic little welder

Guess i need to start where i can

Yes you can. 195 is ALOT of amps. Even a Hobart 145 would be a good start. If just for 3/32 6010 at 60, or 3/32 7018 at 90. I use 140amps sometimes. But I rarely go above that. So yeah, 195 is plenty!

@josephfranklin5083 Joseph.... dude, you need to get out of that mind set. Like Brent said, I also started with a generator, a plug in stick box, and an extension cord. When you go on a call, they don't care if your machine is red, blue, orange, or black, they just want their stuff fixed so they can get back to work. I have a friend that bought a used Miller machine for $4000. It broke down shortly after and cost almost $2000 to fix and took 6 months. In my shop, my stick, Mig, Tig, plasma are all PrimeWeld. They are inexpensive, very high quality, 3 year hands down warranty, and the best customer service in the land. Even a Hobart 145 welder generator is enough for 3/32 6010 (60amp) and 7018 (90amp). You can do a hell of a lot with that setup. My Outlaw is 195. I will never use all that. The most I've used is maybe 160-170. If you want a bigger, nicer unit, look at the big engine driven machine from Hobart at Tractor Supply. It's really nice. Sure, I would love to have a Miller Bobcat, but too expensive and worried about repairs. I'd recommend to get what you can, and get to work. Use extra cash for marketing. It will work itself out. I'd start with a Hobart Handler 145, used from Marketplace. Let your work speak for itself, not the color of your machine.

@@josephfranklin5083 Don’t matter what you got, as long as you can weld is all that matters. I have Old dump trucks and If I waited to buy a Nice Newer one, I’d never be in business. My older Unit makes just as much as a New Unit. Climb from the bottom up. I wanted a Hobart Elite Used but low Hour machines sold before I could get to them. So I Just went and picked up a Vulcan for half the price, new and with extended warranty. Keep in mind I’m pinky using this to Weld up things here and there for me and my friends on the Dump trucks. Finding mobile welders that work after hours is very hard. Good luck buddy.
