One of the main things missing from the infantry gameplay in BA is the infantry strongpoints, like no matter if its a shed or an industrial complex with massive concrete walls a tank will just steamroll any inf. I feel like infantry should have some stayingpower in some kinds of buildings so that you would have to clear some points with your own inf or try to bypass it.. Also forest just felt dumb, how does a tank have the same vision and speed in a dense forest as 14 marineraiders, it is litterally the perfect place to conduct an ambush. But it was always a 50/50 chanse against heavy armor, it feels like it should be a deathsentence to drive a tank into a forest full of enemy inf.

And the reverse is true: an Apache Longbow, with its god-tier optics and milimetre radar, gets easily ambushed and killed by a Derivatsiya. This game has a great potential but the balance is just not there :(

@johnnyenglish583 Yeah feels a little dumb that a big ifv or tank from the 90s with very hot exhaust is invisible to a heli with the most expensive thermals money can buy.. I get that the longbows f&f hellfires can't get a good lock in a forest but for the king of recon to die to ambushes that easily just feels sad.. Also I want weapon ranges displayed on LoS tool, and maybe some kind of automated supply system becuase the current one requires soo much micro when pushing.

You can see the range of your weapons if you select the Apache(or any other units) and then hover your mouse over an enemy unit.

You need to play infantry the right way, and then they can be very effective in buildings. First off, you don’t keep them at the perimeter buildings of the town. Tanks will outrange anything but ATGMs, and letting a tank hammer your infantry at a distance should get your infantry killed, even if they are in a building. That is exactly how tanks are used in today’s battlefield and makes perfect sense. Then, when the enemy is forced to enter the town with its armor, it’s your time to strike. You need to micro, and you are looking to force fights where you have the advantage. Preferably, you want to engage with two infantry units at the same time but also make sure that you create a kill box where the angle from the enemy tank and between your two units is more than 60°. The tank will face what it considers to be its biggest threat and expose its side armor to the other unit. Shooting a well-armored tank in the front with HEAT gives it a 50-60% damage reduction, while side and rear shots are 100% damage. Combined with the critical hits you get from using infantry AT, you can bring down a tank fast. The forest is an issue, but I think it’s mostly a visibility issue. Infantry should have a lot better vision in a forest than armor. They should also be able to hunt down hiding snipers. This beta, I’ve been able to hold the big forest objective on the Airport map simply by hiding 2-3 snipers in it and shooting down any drones the enemy sends to locate them. The enemy has 5-10 units walking up and down the forest looking for my units, but it can take them the entire game to find them if I just keep sprinting them around.

Something I'm noticing is that, at least on this map, it looks like sneaking a SPAAG around the flanks to sit near an air spawn without a nearby ground spawn could be a valid strategy. Get some chip damage in on fresh planes before they enter the area of the map their owner is most likely paying attention to and maybe finish off retreating planes that barely managed to survive the AA covering the front line.

The fact that people don’t understand how the scoring system works are losing a lot of players their game. Here obviously throwing all those air units at you let you get destruction war goals you needed to win. In other games I see people rush into frontline objectives with a skeleton crew just to capture it first, even though you get no points for capturing it early, only to lose said units before the phase is over and adding to their enemy’s destruction points. Meanwhile backline objectives captured early are never protected so I can easily sneak in with a stealthy unit, wait just outside the perimeter until theres around a min left of the phase and then walk in, capture it and score the points without giving the enemy any time to recapture it.

Thats why any average skilled player (like at least 1300) leaves some units on every point, usually helis with missilea or backline inf (just to response quickly and then send counter units).

One weird thing I found is you can defeat the tanks with the russian 57mm vehicles by double teaming at close range since they pierce the sides of mbts no problem and have massive dps.

Isn't that realistic? Soviet and then Russian 57 mm anti-aircraft guns fire projectiles that must fly 4-6 km at high speed, and therefore they have high armor penetration at point-blank range due to high speed and small size of the projectile. Meanwhile, when the frontal armor of modern MBT can reach the equivalent of a meter of steel, in the side and rear projection it is just armor from light autocannons and anti-cumulative means. The "Деривация" has essentially a ship's anti-aircraft gun, which fires two such projectiles per second.

14:30 I noticed that harriers AGM's are incredibly for destroying heavy vehicles compared to other Hellfires or other AG missiles. I only found out at the last days of this Beta how insanely strong they are if you have vision on the enemy tanks. 1 harrier with 4 AGM's could sometimes take out 2 tanks and probably 99% kill rate at whatever 1 vehicle you put it against. Enemy make a big armored push? Pull out 2 harriers and that push is like -4 vehicles,4 heavy vehicles if you select your targets well. This is my feeling atleast. With hellfires or similiar missiles often having to use 6+ to kill heavy stuff and they are very slow and often smoked easily. Not sure if realistic or not , but as me who played the whole beta focusing heavily on air in my playstyle , they were were starting to become my favorite unit towards the end. Was hovering around 1900 elo through the beta.

Planes are so easy to shoot down with AA I can't help watching these videos that investing in air power is basically just a good way to guarantee you lose the points battle. They really couldnt have done much more to cover their air play with the amount of SEAD they had in and they still got wrecked.

In BA, artillery and mortar does not have a big range, you need to drag them to the frontline. Mortar is there only to smoke while the big arty is there only to snipe supply dump and occasionaly big building with atgm

Yeah its a proper upgrade bringing A LOT of QoL & mechanics that are better imo. I didnt really like the look of it originally due the UI style, wasnt sure on how units regening from death would play out and thought that the specialisation system would make things feel bland but decided to give it a go this time round - turned out my concerns were pretty unwarranted. Even with just 3 specialisations the unique deck building system made everyone's decks feel unique to play against, the upkeep system kept losses impactful and i didnt actually end up disliking the UI at all. At this point warno really is just there for if u got that cold war itch to scratch or if you're a die hard for the strict deck building & perma death style gameplay.

It's a different game. Warno is a more realistic, sim-like game with, as far as is known, a much more robust singleplayer/coop component. It also has a much better unit AI customization system. Broken Arrow is more arcadey, like halfways between World in Conflict and Warno. It's also got some really nice UI advacements, but also some really lacking UI features compared to WARNO. And obviously there's no way to know if the singleplayer is going to be any good (the fact that their playtest coop scenarios were *extremely* early, primitive and still buggy as hell are not a good sign).

It's just mind boggling why you dont use hold fire on recon units and don't turnoff rifles on manpads - it could save your units because detection radius of infantry is broken on this stage of development Nice plays anyway tho
