You are living my life... except you're about 20 years behind. When you catch up, it'll be your wife, and you'll be in Kohl's shopping with a scowling teenager or two as well, who will be all too willing to let you know that nobody cares about Vulfpeck or any of the other random crap you keep mentioning day in and day out. They will convey this via their five-syllable mantra: "Nobody cares, Dad". Hang in there my friend. Hang in there.

This is f*cking fantastic, guys. Joey is an extremely talented singer and songwriter, and his performance in this was absolutely captivating. Whoever the cameraman is knows this group's dynamics very well, as they capture the many truly magical moments: Here are the ones i have observed thus far. 0:23 That whole-band tension as joe starts up the bassline. 0:28 nice edit to a shot of intense concentration from everyone. 0:35-0:50 Joe, David and James are already locked in tighter than a virgin wearing a chastity belt. 0:55 David's expression. 1:02-1:12 Jack and Gabe appreciate the groove. 1:25-1:35 James feels the emotion behind the lyrics, he's watching Antwuan and Theo. Winces a little bit but never skips a beat. 1:39 Antwuan watches Joey sing the line "i try not to expect much anymore". 1:48-1:53 Joey sings. 1:54-2:10 Lead and backup call and respond, then intertwine. 2:11-2:40 David's guitar face and Joe's bass neck steal the show, this is my favourite moment in this video. I could watch this bit over and over. 2:42 Intense concentration and sick drumming from James as he watches the singers intently, glaces at the camera for a split second 2:58 That Lo-fi drumkit though... 3:16 cello slide 3:19 guitar slide The rest of the video is constant pan shots and cuts to incredible moments. (Yes, I realize that at this point I have classified most of the video as "truly magical" but I couldn't think of any I could remove.) 4:25 Ending few moments, shot cuts from Joey sitting on the wurli, to joey playing sax with woody on the wurli, which tells us they probably did a full take with joey on sax. Jack, if it exists, PLEASE give us this track. I know Joey's singing is too good to not be on this track but it can't hurt to let us hear the alternate take. I think if would be sweet to hear as an instrumental as well. Just a thought. Also, I COULD be wrong. Maybe you just laid down the sax sections in isolation, but i don't think that's the Stratton way. His A&R on this couldn't be clearer. I think he'd just get the band to play the whole track and have Joey lay down the sax parts when they come up. The more natural way. I know it exists, Jack, and I want to hear it.

incredible album, vulfpeck crushing it. however, it should be said that there have been several excellent albums this year so far and this has been a great year for music; Grizzly Bear's "Painted Ruins," LCD Soundsystem's "american dream," Gorillaz's "Humanz," Tyler the Creator's "Flower Boy," Thundercat's "Drunk," The War on Drugs, Brand New, SZA, Kendrick Lamar, Little Dragon, everything that Snarky Puppy, Cory Henry, Jacob Collier, Louis Cole, GroundUP Music is doing etc... : D

I know right??? I love the clip at around 0:50 in where you can see him playing inaudible subdivisions on his right leg, just so that every one of those delicious backbeats lands exactly in the right place. That's a drummer, good people...
