I love Anneke, she is probably my favourite singer in the world. This said, I have mixed feelings about Vuur and this album, but this song... THIS SONG. This is easily one of my favourite songs of the last years, in any genre. One of the best she has ever done in my opinion.

killer song and album. does she say "You'll be relentless" or "Don't be relentless" in the chorus? Online lyrics say "don't" but I hear it as "you'll", which makes more sense to me.

Yeah, as a tourist you get a different view on things, you see the super markets, the beaches, go to the parties, watch the "monuments" or whatever but you rarely get to see beyond the facade. You dont see and surely wouldnt like to see the poverty, misery and violence.

Backing/guitars remind me of Funeral for a Friend perhaps? Which isn't a bad thing! There are plenty operatic style "metal" singers that I'm not a great fan of, but Anneke's voice has a pleasant quality, more human, I much prefer it!

I totally agree. I love Anneke, but the music here just sounds like every other symphonic metal band (within temptation, elis, amberian dawn, nightwish, delain, etc). Anne's voice is gorgeous - I'm not a fan of her band - imo, they honestly sound like a bunch of studio musicians. :(
