How did it turn out for you? My 091 R&P is toast. Looking at replacing with a super diff also.

Turned out good as far as I know. I thrashed it for a year with no problems. Then I ended up selling it.

I did understand the dial indicator on the drive shaft?

I used the indicator to show me the backlash of the gears

dave folts spool with weddle ring and pinion

What did you set your preload to? On used bearings I set mine at 20 inlbs rotational torque.

I didn't have a torque meter at home. trans guys told me on this style trans they can be set like wheel bearings. we'll see what happens...
