Volkswagen baja bugs club offroading in 2019. We put a super beetle baja bug (the dust buggy) up against vw baja bugs with beam conversions and stock ball joint suspension. How do you think she'll hold up?

@@dustbuggy its getting faster. 13.98 at 99mph. Had an intake leak on that pass. Ill get it fixed and see if the mph will get me over 100. Might try a single blow thru carb and see if its faster or slower.

I really like your videos. Helps me get motivated on my Baja. I daily drive it most of the year, except snow, or forecast of downpours. Do you guys have a strut tower brace to help strengthen the front end?

That's awesome! We daily her too when we can ( she doesn't have windshield wipers right now so can't in the rain gahhh). We haven't gotten around to building anything like that for her because we plan on going a arm eventually (eventually...when we have the money that is 😂)

Why is the McPherson front end inferior? Is it just not as sturdy?

The struts are mounted through the body, which makes it prone to collapsing in at the hood. We have braced that area with a strut brace to take care of that issue. We also custom made 4 inch lift spindles so we have more ground clearance. Both of those things have made her a beast offroad. The only shortcoming she has currently is her front travel is only about 6 inches right now
