That is an awesome upgrade to your suspension it should operate more freely now, you may still want to add in that bump stop so your not in danger of bottoming out the shocks. did the pacific customs guys say anything about that ?...you are gonna know every bolt on the dust buggy before this journey is through. lol. You keep up the great work, we are loving every moment !!!!

Can the fire extinguisher in your car be quickly released if needed? Cuz it looks like it's clamped.

It is a quick release mount, half of the mount comes off with the fire extinguisher so it is only one button to pull out and it comes right off 👍

Why the heim joint on the spring plate? I can't see the function of it. What am i missing? On a side note, it's great to see you out there doing it!👍

@@MauriceGunn it allows the plate to pivot, mimicking the function of the torsion housing that you delete when you do the conversion 👍 also used for alignment of plate to arm

@dustbuggy I see. I'm used to seeing a heim joint at either end with a left hand right hand configuration on the tube that connects the two for adjustment purposes. I guess in this case you're not concerned about the wheels on either side being aligned with each other since the torsion arm holds them perpendicular to the ground. Over thinking it on my part.

Awesome job on the repair. Just one thing you need to do. Put a zip tie on the upper oil line to support it so that it is not stressing the oil cooler line. This is why it cracked from all the bouncing.

Oh I'm sure I have a good amount of ptsd lol I don't think it's escape-able when you go through something so terrible. It just reminds you to be thankful for what you have in that current moment 🙏 and to let the negative go

I was loving you spraying the dirt in the drones shots, too f'n awesome! Lets hope the channel picks up and starts paying for them new parts!

Sorry so late to the game. I just found your videos. Your Mojave madness is literally in my back yard. I can see the brewery from my house. I was into bugs big time for many years. I had 10+ bugs at one time. I've been kinda out of the vw life for a bit but I'm picking up a sandrail soon from a friend to get back into having some offroad fun again. Watching you videos is getting me hiped up & your event being so close to me I would love to attend next year.

You should invest in the new Empi solid aluminum one that's available nowadays. You might want to check the front bushing as well. Delrin makes a solid one of those. Both pricey but they say they'll last longer than the vehicle.
