All they ones I've built ( 20 plus ) have driven perfectly smoothly on the street I'm just finishing a 2387 with an FK89 and the CB Steet fighter head in a Beetle . Was on 42 mm vents , just gone up to 44 mm vents . If anything, it's smoother . Idles beautiful

@volkstroke It's my friend Mark Baxter's 65 Beetle It did once belong to Keith Sueume , a guy from the UK who started VolksWorld magazine It had the motor in it, but it blew out a lot of smoke . On inspection, I could pull several of the valve guides out of the heads with my fingers ( SuperFlow 2's ) they were that loose . The FK10 and lifters were pretty worn also It also has a Berg 5 Speed fitted It's a lovely car

If 48's are synched right and the engine can use that much carb they run just fine. The sets ive heard complaints from were usually way out or needed overhauled. Seen some old ones needing throttle shaft bushings bad. It causes a big vacuum leak. Just need proper attention.

If you could share with me. I have FK8 cam Engle lifters, Lifter head is too thick. What lifter would you suggest with Clearance'd head. Not enough lobe too lifter clearance.

That’s absolutely unheard of I have ran cams that lift 550 and that’s never been an issue are you sure you tapped the lifter all the way in sometimes the case isn’t machined right and the lifter hangs open Also those are one of the worse lifters in the industry I recommend use the scat or grab speed or the AA or the webs but I’d use the scat if I could

We travel to any good event within a day drive 16 h away no problem but going to be replacing Irwindale…nothing our class Real Street is alive and will continue the racing at the famoso drag strip with match race madness events thank god we out of the triple crown

@ So the real street racers will tow the cars to Kern County racetrack at Famosa and then you guys will gas up somewhere and drive 20 miles and then go back and race is that how that works? Because you guys are not going to drive three hours from here to Kern County with those cars with those beautiful cars right you’re gonna trailer there and is that correct is that how its gonna work

@ I’m pretty sure we were the only fast car to drive and race and drive home but now that it’s a 2 hour freeway drive to Bakersfield I will also be towing my car there it’s not geared to go on the freeway at 70-80 mph the actual speed of freeways here in California The racing procedure and the fill up cruise and heads up qualifying and elimination procedures should remain the same. The car counts will probably not be affected due to there are both cal guys that will be benefiting from the move. And it’s a 2 day event Friday practice Saturday is full up and cruise followed by qualifying and Sunday is elimination.
