Good info! I guess if I'm going to get a beetle project, I need to learn how to weld!

Hey man Kevin here from Australia . You said it YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR . But it's good to see your going the extra mile and putting in the hours and doing the job right. People should be taking notice so many don't realize what's waiting for them when they decide to restore a bug and they end up slapping them together. This is going to be one solid bug when finished. Anyhoo thankyou for sharing you stay safe and stay well. ✌ Peace.

I originally restored this bug and what you said is spot on. I didn't know what I was getting into and didn't have the time to get the job done right. Now, 20 years later, Lucas is taking care of business and getting it done really right. How cool is that!

Thanks Kevin! I can’t wait until this work is behind us and we can get on to the cool things we have planned. But, it will be nice to have a solid and straight foundation to work on. Anyway, take care and I’ll see ya around!

I did the heater channels on my 61 Beetle, I used the Klassic Fab funky green ones. They may cost a bit more than the other ones, but the fit and quality of them is really nice, why less work than what you went through installing those.

Nice work, look like the jp dansk channels? That's what I went for. Known for being thicker metal but not as good tooling as you can vouch for. One good thing is you can see they look fully e coated inside.

Dude your videos are awesome but, and there’s always a butt, lol. Where did you get your patch panels? I’ve looked at Wolfsburg west, J bugs, CIP1. And honestly I don’t know which one is best. Cost is definitely a factor since I have already purchased Wolfsburg west floor pans And full length heater channels. Thanks buddy keep up the good work

Wolfsburg West is my first choice, then CIP1. I have got a few simpler pieces from JBugs, and they have been OK.

As a matter of interest, are they Brazilian heater channels?

3 Years later Jan 31 2024 they are still making them wrong and still selling them and they do not line up. How many people are screwing up there new floors trying to get them to fit. I am sure the seller and the manufacturer of these parts knows they are not correct, but they keep on selling them this way.
