Love your videos. Hi there. Replaced all brake lines with SS ones installed new master cylinder on my Vw sb 73. All lines were bleeded. Brake pedal is very high and pulsates when breaking. Any leads are welcome. Thanks
@SladesVWBeetle Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words, my friend. If your brakes, or should I say your pedal is pulsating. Your drums need trued. They’re out of round or at least one is.

@@SladesVWBeetle I installed all new German drums and cylinders. Brake shoes are new as well.
@SladesVWBeetle Жыл бұрын
@@ferdinandbaez2410 that’s kind of strange for new German drums. Although a pulsating of the pedal normally means, out of round drums. Unless the brake shoes need matched to the drums. As in, I’ve seen guys send the brake shoes to meet the roundness of the drums. Sometimes the brake shoes can be a little off.
@ferdinandbaez2410 Жыл бұрын
@@SladesVWBeetle thanks for your response. I trust your knowledge. I removed the drums and noticed the brake shoes are only touching in the area next to the cylinders. Which brake shoes will you recommend me. I’m willing to install a new set on all.

Thank you for another great video. I have to change my Master, and picked up a brake line kit to change while at it. I’ll be sure to clean and paint, change the grommets, and be sure the spacers don’t fall. Appreciate all the pointers.

Hey there...love your videos..taught me heaps. You've told us not to adjust the plunger once you've pulled it out. My bad...the adjuster spun and then I tried to fix it and made it worse. I have no fluid in the system so how do I put the plunger back in at the right adjustment??

Another great video Slades 👍. I love your videos. I won’t be doing this for a long time but I’m glad I have the resources here if I need guidance. And you’re exactly right about the pedal going thru the firewall lol my dad had that happen with one his beetles back in the 80s. I’m looking for a pedal spacer for mine as my boots I wear for work are too wide to fit where the gas pedal is next to the brake pedal.
@SladesVWBeetle4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Blake! Yes those spacers are very important inside of the firewall. I wanted to make sure I pointed that out to everyone. The 68 will be coming in soon, so I will be doing the same thing, probably just better camera work now. But this time when I rebuild the pedal assembly, I am going to space the pedals much further apart. So I will make sure to do a special video on that.

Awesome video! I've been scouring KZbin for how-to instruction. I have 72 SB, body off. I did a solid 2 coats of POR15 on everything and I'm ready to reassemble the frame. I did not keep the original brake lines (stupid mistake that will never happen again) so I've been looking for videos to show the bending. Thanks so much for your vids. I'm now subscribing!

Thank you Brandon, and thank you so much for being here. I’m trying to create something different on KZbin. Almost an index to go through on what you need to see, when you’re in need of help. I hope that surely made sense. You can order the nine piece brake line kit, so you did not make a mistake by doing that. But of course it’s nice to have the old lines to guide you along with the bands. You got this brother! Just take your time. And congrats on your car!

@@SladesVWBeetle thanks for that. I have the entire kit. My project has been on hold for several weeks while I wait on the bolts AND SLEEVES for the master cylinder.
