Nice work! I, like many others, am super glad I didn't have to do this job on my project. Things like this always seem daunting to me. I have to watch several videos, read some articles or even ask several people for advice before I feel comfortable taking on the task. I guess it's a fear of failure and a little bit of not wanting to do it again that makes me feel that way. Also, I feel like if anyone has this repair to make then most likely there are other issues lurking and it may be a good idea to remove the body regardless. All of the mechanicals are easier to work on with the body removed. So, remove it and work on it like a gentleman and save the frustration. It's just my opinion because I went several years debating whether or not to separate the body from the chassis and I'm glad I did. Anyway, I think you did a fantastic job of explaining everything and I'm willing to bet this will be a very well-watched video for many classic VW owners. Thanks VWJ!
@VWJawbreaker2 жыл бұрын
Thank you sir. I do agree with you, it’s been forever since I had to do this job so I did the same thing… lots of reading and talking to others that I value their opinion. We all get overwhelmed at times, that’s when it’s good to walk away and breathe until you can come up with a plan of attack. I’ve already gotten some criticism for the way I did this, but it’s my project and this is how I accomplished the task. I’m sure there will be more criticism in the future but hopefully this will help someone somehow. Have a great week!

It's best to do it now. I did my dune buggy 15 years ago. I spent about a year working on it. Finished it. Filled the tank. Started it. Shut it off. The next day came out, and the puddle of gas laying in the pan drom gas that leaked out of the rusted fuel line. I teplaced mine through the front. It was a PITA, but gt it done. I've been running it since.

Thanks for showing me that the flex shaft on the dremel comes in handy. I haven't thought of using it as much as I should. I would have thought this would take longer than 15 minutes. @VWJawbreaker2 жыл бұрын
I seem to forget about the dremel also most times… funny how that works. In all honesty, it took way longer than 15 minutes as I know you’re joking around. Filming things slows things down even more and it took about 2.5 hours all together. Honestly not a horrible job. We’re still working on the chassis push, I’m working hard when I have a free minute!
