VW bug IRS to Swing Axle with super diff install

Converting an IRS transmission to Swing axle. First i have to figure out why its stuck in 2nd gear. Then we will install a super diff.

Why would you would want to convert from irs to swing ??

I got a good deal on the irs built trans. I have a swing axle car so I transferred all the guts over to make it happen. Pretty much the same guts except for the differential and axles.

@@vintagespeedvw7864 ok i have a baja bug project and it has a nice swing but on a baja i dont like the wheels to be cocked at a ángel so i am thinking about turning it back into a lowered street bug

I’ve taken one apart when I worked at a shop. I pressed in a bearing incorrectly and destroyed it. The owner my boss wasn’t too happy. Never took one apart again lol

Lol, if i can just get it to go into gear when i get it all back together i will be happy.

Cool video man, transmissions are like those puzzle boxes... I've been able to get them apart but getting them back together is the real fun part.

Where do the 4 snap rings go? Do they replace the thrust washer and single snap ring that hold the axles on?
