CB built the crazy big bore motor that in our Nascar Herbie yes with Large Dellroto's all the good stuff fun to drive. We purchased the car from a guy in town that had CB built the motor over ten years ago, have an excel list of all parts that went into it manual on the Dellroto carbs..

Well my 1835cc has a Ericson racing cam 284 duration x .467 lift. With 1.1 rocker that 513 lift. Running a nice set of AA501 heads 40x35.5 vavle 48cc chambers match ported intake it runs great it wants to cruse at 75mph @3200rpm. Other people might say thats to much cam and I should have stuck with stock vavle. But it runs so good

My budget 1641 with a eagle 110 cam was fun on the street.always had power off idle to 5000 rpm.everybody that had over cammed vw 's had to constantly rev there motor to get into there powerband..your video was great..👌🤙😎

Great video I'm building a 1800 with CB performance panchito head's and the Engle cheater cam and Kadrons carbs I'm new to jetting and venturi so these carbs are my training wheels until I get experience and more cash . Then I'll join the big dogs Weber carbs . And possibly a bigger engine the whole 9. As always blessings and more blessings to you and your family and Goose.✌️🙏😃

Your cam choice would depend on a lot of factors. From motor size, to head work, valve size and compression ratio, to what type of VW you are driving. The cheater cam from CB performance is a great choice for a smaller, milder motor. I have one in my 1699cc motor in my 67 beetle. My 1776, sitting on my garage floor has an Engle110, and my 2007cc motor in my Ghia has a CB 2240 cam. Witch ever motor you choose to build just remember that there is no perfect cam, but you can pick a good one for you.

As for jetting you may need to adjust your main jet a little but I would just try running through the normal re-tune once you get everything back together. You may be fine with what you have.

Hey mate I have a stock 1600 with a 26 or 36 mm Webber with dual port heads with a custom exhaust so was just wondering I heard that a 110 cam can go straight in if I change lifter and rockers is this true or should I ask a vw shop close to me

The Engle W110 Classic VW Bug camshaft grind is designed for 1.1 or 1.25 rockers, and it's specs are .392" Cam Lift, .430" Valve Lift (1.1 Rockers), 284 degrees of advertised duration, and 247 degrees of duration at .050", on a 108 Lobe Center. This is the most popular and best all-around street cam ever made for a VW engine. You can not use this with a stock carburetor, you really need at least 2bbls of carb (Centermount 2bbl, dual 1bbls, or dual 2bbls). This cam works "OK" with stock heads, but it's performance is much better with some porting, and especialy if larger valves are used. Expect a powerband of 1500-5800 RPMs, the more headwork and carburetion the better the low end will be. You can get by with HD Single Valve springs and Bolt On Rocker Shafts. Use a compression ratio of 8.25-8.75:1. If you choose to use this cam with 1.25 rockers, you will extend the top end to 6000, but DUAL SPRINGS ARE REQUIRED Yes you'll need new lifters to for the break in of the CAM. @@martinharris5017 Most things are possible with these engines, it's all about how they are set up. Yes, you can run a single carb, the info provided above is from aircooled.net. I've seen guys run really big motors on single carbs were the jetting was right. Really come down to preference and I'll always go dual carb on a bigger CAM every time. Guaranteed better performance... lol bet ya!! lol

Throw your case in the dishwasher dude. Much more effective. When you change to any larger cam other than stock, all the other components up the line need to be upgraded as well. Pushrods, springs, keepers and retainers. High rev singles up to an Engle 100 type cam. Anything over a "100" grind will work better with dual springs. You will float the valves at high rpm. Biggest problem I see when the DIYer builds an engine. They only do things half way. Another problem with "budget builds"... Aircooled.net has the best recommendations for camshaft selection on the internet, period. Read it if you haven't already. The CB 2280 is a great cam, installed many of them. CB and Webcam have the best grinds out there. I no longer buy from Engle. As stated in the previous comment. Cams will change where the power band is, along with carburetion and head flow. Smaller valves and shorter duration put the power down low. like the stock cam. Torque wins races.
