Old 1952 VW Barndoor Bus-rescue out of the woods - T1 Barndoor VW-Bus aus dem Wald in Österreich geborgen. ➡️ ➡️ air-cool-ed.co...
This wreck of an early Volkswagen T1 Bus was rescued in December 2020. Hard to see on the video, but the body metal is very thin (rusted) and wobly. Please remind that, before commenting. =)
The Funny thing is, people always want to see Barnfinds, but I personally think, wood finds - in german Waldfund or Waldfunde - are much more interesting to discover and to rescue. Of course the conditions of Barn finds are much more satisfying. The second video of this particular early Volkswagen Microbus is going to be launchen in december 2021, end of the year, be prepared to watch this Kombi getting back on its feet, with the wooden fram it gets first.
Split window Volkswagen wreck in the forest, the vintage bus from the early 50s was saved in Austria. Frame and body mostly rusted out. But in this crazy old " Urbus " world, it's not a Barn find , but still awesome the parts of it survived between the trees so long. As a Barnfind this splitbus might have been more complete, but early aircooled stuff always needs to be pulled out. =)

Three years ago, I found my '58 camper bus in the forest. It had been abandoned for almost 50 years. Hundreds of hours later, she's back on the roads of Alaska and we're having a blast road Trippin'. If you would have seen the shape she was in when I found her you woulda said, "it's too far gone, just let it rust in peace", but I felt sorry for the old girl, so the odessy began...glad I did.

Früher habe ich viele VW-Bus-Wracks herumliegen sehen, aber schon damals kaum Barndoors. Aber heute noch so etwas zu finden....wau! Die stark beschädigte Motorraumklappe kann ein sehr guter Spengler noch retten. Alle fehlenden Teile gibt es (wieder) zu kaufen, aber halt recht teuer. Aber wem sag' ich das :-)

They had a similar thing with a Spitfire aircraft a few years ago. They had nothing but a manufacturers plate with serial number on it ... they built a spitfire from original, restored and remanufactured parts but it's still classed as the original aircraft !

Much worse 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 How can anything be much worse than a bare shell that’s rotted out lying upside down in the woods forever.there’s not 1 panel on that reusable so the chassis number is now invalid,there’s no engine so no engine number. If they are lucky they could maybe reuse the gearbox,hubs & wheels for something else as it’s not like this 1 just needs sills & floorpans is it!

To me, there's no point in rescuing this. Find a decent chassis, and just have all panels fabricated, instead of using all this old scrap.Like to see the result!

@@rikidiki8940 to everyone. Have you not been paying attention to the bus market? All you need is a VIN tag none of the other metal maters. They could save the frame areas around the tranny so this bus is way ahead of some of the others I have seen. NO ONE cares if every panel is original, NO ONE. You can mail a VIN tag to grumpys in an envelope and get back a 200k bus. This bus is 15k in metal panels and 4 weeks of work away from being a complete roller.
