Reassuring to see a time served Master Technician come up against 50 years of rust. A wobble of confidence, for the rest of us, right tools+ right method......Never in doubt.😉

I hate rust- never been a fan. Most jobs are not terrible if you have some knowledge and the proper tools.

New brake system, check! 😊 I get that is not really easy for us mere mortals, but for Super Tech (that's you, Erik) you make it look like a walk in the park.

Can you put a tiny bit of never seize on the little allen bolts and on the lug studs? I would think a tiny bit would help for the next brake job?
@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs Жыл бұрын
Some people do- I don't as that is what I always have done. It can go either way and would be ok. Maybe in a high rust area, it might be a decent idea to

@Farpoint Farms Restorations and Repairs yes I am in Pennsylvania and everything rusts bad because of the winter brine they spray the roads with here.

I have plan to restore my brake system...but not sure with aftermarket parts..but original parts is hard to find right now...do you have recomendation?
@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs11 ай бұрын
There are very few options for original parts. You can do what I did and buy a second bus for parts, but even then a lot of stuff is worn out.
@bhektiari777211 ай бұрын
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs I think is to risky buy another bus for a donor parts...but buy new aftermarket parts Im not sure about the build quality...
@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs11 ай бұрын
@@bhektiari7772 It's tough. I'd stay away from eBay and Amazon for parts and stick with companies like BusDepot for the important parts. While these are also aftermarket, they tend to be a better grade of such.

that wasn't bad at all like it when you just slide the pads in and put the pins on my 2006 tacoma they sent me 2 calipers box numbers were different but there was 2 same front right so had taken it apart already we put the caliper bleeder up on the old removed caliper bled it then moved it to the new router up side down works great I'm in nova scotia. had odered them from avatar parts in british colombia . price was good but wont do that again sending back the old calipers cost me 60 +? bucks freight. lesson learned
@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs Жыл бұрын
ouch- that was some expensive freight- maybe not enough to cover the core

got back over 200.00 but here in canada in the land of every thing cost twice as much ...ordered 2 small scope rifle mounts for a traditions 50 cal black powder inline. they were 15 bucks u.s. through amazon. was 25.61 free freight landed here took 2 months
