My dad used ti have a red 1300 VW, and even I drived it for 2 or 3 years... I must say, when my dad decided to sell it, I was crying... It was a great car, always started (even in -20, here in Europe)... If I'll manage to save some money in the future, I'm sure I'll by another one, and I'll never sell it...

Maybe in Britain where you barely get any snow compared to us Canadians that have to drive in -40 Celsius January weather. VWs are very rare here because rust proofing was absolutely terrible for a climate such as ours, the only ones that survived, for the most part, are from the 1970s. American cars have survived the test of time here, as well as quite a number of Triumphs and Volvos.

This reminds me of my own beetle, it was bought by a german family, then exported to Spain in 1970, and had it's second owner. There, it was bought by my father in 1988, and since then it's been his. Now, it's my first car, and i will ever sell it... I this will ever happen with a modern car... They ain't got a soul.

sorry to nit pick, but that is a genuine convertible beetle at the end. you can chop the roof off a normal beetle but it would look nothing like that unless you were REALLY REALLY good at metalwork...

algunos le dicen volocho o vocho, fusca (brasil) kafer en la misma alemania o beetle, como sea este fierro es el mas recio d todos los tiempos! en serio pasan de una mano a otra como si nada y cada uno lo pone como uno kiere.. aca en peru se devaluaron mucho en un tiempo y los vendian hasta por 500 dolares! y pensar ke en italia pagan miles x ellos!

the vw bug was actually produced and sold under the command of a British general almost inctantly after the second world war. the car itself was designed by Ferdinand Porsche. only the idea was hitlers and its not like his spirit is embeded in ever vw. I still love my 73 bug:D
