Really enjoyed the episodes on the e up and I’m expecting mine to be delivered beginning of November, mainly short trips with a long one thrown in the longer journeys may take a little more planning looking forward to future vlogs.

I like the recuperation mode. I always drive in stage 4 in city and stage 1 in highway.

Good idea to use fossil car noise because elderly pedestrians (fossils) will instinctively recognise that there is a vehicle approaching. A rumbling V8 sound would be a fun option. 🚙

The things you like are what I like about our Citigo. So its good to know those features have not been spoiled by electrification. The range and charging are adequate for most people I'd say, long range driving is not a strong point of any car this size (ICE or electric). Now if they could just get the price down :-) Thanks for the great reviews, I've enjoyed watching along.
@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I think the price is amazing. only 3.500€ more than the fossile version.
@mike.n.davies4 жыл бұрын
@@BatteryLife Unfortunately in the UK it is £6000 (€6800) more than fossil version. However, the car is doing well in the UK, the Skoda Citigo iV version has sold out of all 400 vehicles built for the UK, it is not even possible to order one. No more Skodas until the factory restarts production. So clearly lots of others agree with you about the price.

Very nice car for city traffic and short stretches on the highway. The only downside are the front seats. Standard camping chairs offer more comfort than these "boards with raised edges". But it drives really good, even in eco-mode.

Ask me! Best car ever after 80 000 km. A Carpuride W903 unit with Android Auto was a real lift for the car. It feels modern now.
@DanielHRuud4 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. A heatpump would improve the range quite a bit, but it would also probably cost too much. The biggest downside i would say is the charging speed on the fastchargers. If it was faster you could easily use this for longer trips aswell.
@shemmo3 жыл бұрын
if they'll use A/C same way as it is used at home (inverter type) .. 1 device will be capable to heat or cool .. heat pump = air conditioner

Most of my use of the vw e-up 2020 will be medium to short journeys with the occasional long journey is it better to run the battery low before recharging or just drive to 50% then recharge I’ve worked out I will have to stop on 3 occasions and worry about the possibility of rapid gate,I’m hoping the weather will be cool enough to help out.
@jeanbrouwers3 жыл бұрын
drive to 50% and then charge is better then to drive it to 10% because of how the lithium battery works.
@AleksandarStefanovic3 жыл бұрын
In the city, keep it around 50%, because the battery suffers when almost full or almost empty, that way you increase the life of the battery (in the long term). When on journeys, aim to arrive at charging stations with as low state of charge as you're comfortable with, because the battery charges faster the emptier it is (thus saving you time on the journey).
@1979box2 жыл бұрын
I don’t give a damn about battery. Always fully charge it and plug it back in between 10-20%

The major problem has been we connect app it’s crap. The charging port cover ( the outer cover) is weak feels like it will break soon. Otherwise very good car and grate value for money. 👍👌👏 Heat pump and led H4 headlights would be great.
@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
We connect worked for me most of the time. Charging cover felt ok.
@Top12Boardsport4 жыл бұрын
Battery Life We Connect has made me walk back to the car several times. And when I get back it’s both locked and charging It shows that the car is unlocked or and that it hasn’t charged at all. Very annoying. The cover of the charge port doesn’t close properly and feel like plastic. On there ICE cars it’s metal and closes firmly and stable.

Great and honest review :-) 200 watts for the lights, WOW, surely LEDs are not that expensive and would help save battery. Do you have an animal on the back seat?

Yes, our dog Wesley.
@gwarlow4 жыл бұрын
Marcus Mascord I think that lights work off of the 12 volt battery, not the battery that powers the motor. Am I incorrect?
@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
That is true. But the 12v will be charged by the high voltage battery.

Both No.

@waynejones56354 жыл бұрын
Why would you want the car charged to only 80% if you have it charging at home overnight?
@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
Better for the battery! Never charge to 100% unless you need it.
@ibjensen514 жыл бұрын
I've learned that you can charge up to 100% on a home charger without battery damage. If you are using DC quick charger, do not allow more than 80%. Correct?
@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
No, 100% only if you are using it on long trips. Charging the car many times to 100% can damage the battery.
@electricwhirl51753 жыл бұрын
@@BatteryLife it may not damage the battery, but it's lot harder to "fill" all the cells in the battery, so for example charging to 80% will use 15kwh/100km, but charging to 100% may turn like 20kwh/100km, also it heats battery much more.

@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
Mir hat der eUp viel besser gefallen als die Zoe. Fahrgefühl, Bedienung. Aber die neue Zoe ZE 50 klingt besser.
@ph40304 жыл бұрын
@typxxilps4 жыл бұрын
But Renault is a lot more expensive and not the big hit if you have to sell it as a used car at least in Germany. Far higher depriciation and insurances, same for spare parts and maintenance. more a kind of a diva if its aging 3+ years. Once in a lifetime ... after 5 years a nightmare.
@typxxilps4 жыл бұрын
Heatpump is not that big help - far too expensive and far too less gain on range for 1000€ more. Forget about 1000€ for just 10 -20 km more range. It is not such high amount if the car has reached the climate. the e-up is not that great deal - compared to the e Golf and with a far far better interior, size, quality, package and extras on board. 5000€ more and you get a car with a total different value.
